True but I think a lot of our problems this week were caused or compounded (and a symptom) of lack of punch from the back. Parry was the worst of them, and Hoff is better at it. Parry to prove (probably more to himself) that he can provide it

Apparently the Hoff not behind Parry in pecking order after all. Bugger! We have been lucky to have Hoff the fill the void due to injuries. The return of Mennings, Fergo and inclusion of Wanga will see him back in reggies and even behind Parry now. Don't you realize that you need depth in a squad ?
Isn't it the job of our assistant coaches to fix these deficiencies in our players before they make NRL? Why are we paying a shit load of cash to these blokes to have a promising player with huge deficiencies? These are systems that should be in place already for lower grades, no wonder our defence is so shit in our NRL team.Faingaa is a good ball-runner, with good hands...
But he honestly makes Bryce Cartwright look like Nathan Hindmarsh, and Dallas Johnson's love-child...
He is an absolutely shit-house defender.

I like Faainga. But for mine he looked out of shape when playing for Fiji.
If Parry is in the BAs future he should be on the wing instead of Hoffman...
BA's job is to win games. Squad succession is part of the equation but should not impede the squad.
How the hell do you get out of shape when your job is to train every day????????????
Squad succession is entirely @Poupou Escobar 's job
To be fair Pou has not been sighted of late whilst internet access is being arranged in his new digs.Escobar is too busy handling the Columbian Cartels

It should impede 100% especially if Parry is going to be here in the future.. as you said his job is to win games now and in the next 12 months.. Short sightness is a big issue that's why teams blow their cap and have no long term success........
If every deficiency could be fixed teams wouldn't bother spending so much on recruitment. They would just improve all their existing players.Isn't it the job of our assistant coaches to fix these deficiencies in our players before they make NRL? We don't just want to win games in the future though, we want to win this weekend. Though I guess that's technically also in the future. If Parry is in the BAs future he should be on the wing instead of Hoffman...
Once the season starts they need to be able to recover from the last game and stay fresh for the upcoming game while also maintaining their weight. What this means is that their training intensity isn't high enough to lose weight, especially if they're not disciplined with their diet. How the hell do you get out of shape when your job is to train every day????????????
And worrying about the future gets plenty of coaches sacked before they can reap the benefits. This is why succession planning should reside with some merkin other than the coach. It should impede 100% especially if Parry is going to be here in the future.. as you said his job is to win games now and in the next 12 months..
