It's interesting how ideas spread through a group. Just by talking and reading. The idea that Egan has bad service is fundamentally flawed yet is spreading like a weed.

I think you'll find the view that Egan has poor service has been around since he debuted in first grade. Problems with his passing from dummy half has also been remarked upon by commentators from time to time. Sione Katoa has the best service of the three (I am not saying that alone makes him the best hooker), but the problem with Sione is that his decision making is suspect as he tires, and that happens pretty quickly. However, his passing from dummy half is sublime.

It is also pretty clear that Ivan sees Kenny as the better option between Egan and Kenny - you don't start your first choice hooker off the bench.

I excluded it not by my own choice but because the NRL statistics were not yet updated (so the only statistics available were those I quoted).

Kenny played 33 minutes Vs Egan 48 minutes

It might change in future but it seems more like Kenny is being used to ease Egan into the job after his injury.

It's also the first real tough opposition we've played in the winning run and Egan gets more game time. I'd say that's more an indication of Ivan's thoughts.

Kenny would be my starting lock could do the same job as Winterstein defensively and offer more in attack.

The wraps on Egan are warranted given his form in lower grades. Not often a hooker scores 4 tries a game. Which he did twice in NYC but not showing it yet but shoulder injuries are hard to play through for hookers especially. So who knows if that affected him

Mansour is past it. Naden is far too limited. A first grade team should be looking to do better than Whare and Edwards in their positions. We should be looking to replace them all for 2020. To'o is the only outside back worth his jersey and he's just average.

He can't pass, can't tackle, can't read attack, can't finish, isn't particularly fast or have great feet for a centre. He's getting by on frame and exuberance and it won't be enough in the long term. Really we should try and make a winger out of him but only because we are low on other options.

Seriously, if Annesly was fair dinkum he would sit down with Klein. Refs are supposed to facilitate a fair contest.

On the plus side we matched them in the middle of the park, and that was with carrying Yeo who doesn't belong there. Leniu in for RCG, and if he kicks on we could be as good as any team up front in 2020.

Yeo definitely belongs in the middle these days. Just playing hurt atm

At the ground neither Kenny or Egan looked threatening out of dummy-half. It's the same story all year. We don't have a class 9 in our top 30.

Naden particularly bad and lacked involvement coming out of our own end. We will see how quickly he learns.

Nathan Cleary had a stock standard game. It's about what you'd expect from him. We are so used to it now it's not a big discussion point.

Luai went ok. Definitely better at centre than Yeo who can't play out there again.

I'd debut Leinu next week. RCG out. Leota outplayed him with ease. We really need impact from our bench and no Kikau makes Leinu's inclusion even more important.

Maybe he'll be different if he's fit but I'm not seeing it. I don't mind him in attack there but defending he doesn't have the mass to bend them back or control them in the ruck.

His shoulder is stuffed and the club is playing him instead of using the development roster which is available but they are being overly conservative in picking the 17.

The problem is Ivan won't change anything till it's too late as described by @herbert henry1908 when arguing the point of Ivan getting too much credit for the winning run.

Because you can always be better. Though I was exaggerating a bit with that comment to make a point and it shouldn't be taken literally.

The only changes I want are Lenui and Crichton given a go. I'd give Mansour a week in reserves again. He responded well last time. Might be what he needs from Time to time.
