Whare is a gun centre & a pretty ordinary fullback. Moss is out for how much longer?

Our season is still alive. Smith is a better fullback than he is a half. Then Seg, Mansour, Jennings will be back. Up front hopefully BMM is ready as the coaching staff seem to rate him.

Sopoaga and BMM are on standby for Plum, Jennings on standby for Simmons, Smith likely to replace DWZ. Can't catch a single break this season.

Our injured backline now shits on our healthy one. Whare is our only first choice back available.

1. Matt Moylan
2. Josh Mansour
3. Jamal Idris
4. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
5. David Simmons / George Jennings

Four first choice backs and our best replacement backs all out injured. Just as we look to be getting nearer full strength we lose a couple more players and our season is pretty much over without question now.

Smith at fullback wouldn't be too bad IMO. Gives us another ball playing option.

I wouldn't have an issue if we held onto him another couple of years. Looking better in the halves for NSW Cup and can fill in anywhere in the backline.

If results go our way,we can still afford to lose 3 - 4 games and still make the eight.

If the Broncos and Cows were to keep winning every week, 8th might just have 26. It would help also if the other sides that are safely in the 8 kept winning too, except against us, and also if the sides out of the running won some games.

We haven't won in Melbourne since 2005. This would have been our best chance for a while if we had Moylan, Mansour, DWZ etc available. I hope we can pull off an unlikely win and if so Cartwright does need to play a man of the match type game.

So we have no wingers tonight. Waqa Blake and Robert Jennings are both centres being played out of position. Throw in Will Smith at fullback and Cooper Cronk has 3 massive targets to bomb all night.

Not sure who would be the biggest liability under the highball. I would guess Will Smith due to size and spending more time in the halves than at fullback. But considering the Jennings boys are known for terrible hands and Waqa Blake is probably leading our error count for the year, it's not a backline that fills me with confidence.

That said we are one of those sides who can out of nowhere put in a terrific performance with a seemingly weak roster and absolutely stick it to a much more fancied side. My head says Storm 13+ without us ever even looking like being in the game. But the heart says we can win in a tight one with Soward and Cartwright finding holes everywhere in the Storm defence.

Cronk didn't need to bomb our back 3. All they had to do was run the ball. Smith handled whatever came his way through the air but was unable to stop the runners.

Dead set, we have been under the effect of a very powerful curse against this opponent for well over a dozen years now. One day it will end, and when it does it will be with a result like tonight's.

The Storm were nothing more than workmanlike. Cronk always murders us, you expect that, but all they did was play mistake-free footy and run into the holes, of which there were many.

Points Tonight: Geeze I don't know. Wallace saved a try, Blake scored one, and Brown had a go. The second half was a tiny bit better than the first, but not much.

3- Wallace
2- Blake
1- Brown
