Ellis can play backrow but is very limited in what he offers

True. I think you’ve gotta start Ellis though (or at least give him decent time) or not pick him at all. In saying that, not too many other options currently.

Our injuries are still having a big say on our side. Luai at 6 & Edwards at 1 make a big difference to that team.

Its a better answer then sticking with Hook. Just like Pearce in Origin.

We ditched a proven big game failure in the hope his replacement won't be. Its a long shot. But our worst case scenario is finishing the season the same way we would have under Hook.

Why did Hook have rookies in Ciraldo and Wallace around him? Why did we not bring in Toovey or Maguire to help out once we did sack him.

David Kidwell, Jason Taylor, David Furner, John Cartwright have all been sitting in the coaches boxes as assistants...

Yet we have rookies. That is why making a change so late was just dumb

Ellis should of started lock. Better balance..

No doubt. Add Edwards/Wallace to this team we'd be leading the comp

Remember when everyone wanted Wallace gone? This is why I said we needed him. It is also why we will go no where near winning the comp this year or maybe even next year

Yep, happy to put my hand up for that one. We do miss him which has surprised me.

Everyone wanted Wallace gone because he was broken. Egan was the answer when Wallace retired not Katoa. Our comebacks have all been when we interchange the hooker.

I am almost 100% certain if we start Egan we don't have the rubbish game again.

Who knows. He is 10 games in hard to say if he has the consistency yet. Katoa looked good too replacing Wallace last year and early this year

Easy done to be lost in the flashy. Reliable is more important and it is showing big time. Hope Egan Atleast fills the void enough to get some wins

Egan plays like Cameron Smith just with less experience. Gives better service, has better vision and better defence than Katoa.

Ciro hinted at changing to team. Seems he's going to make them earn their spots. Good on him.
Hook had already dropped people for under performing (when injuries allowed him to), Merrin for example in the last few weeks...

It does with who we bring in. Imagine if instead of rookies we had a few 50-100 gamers instead. It is what the Sharks do well

I thought you meant being older helped them not get injured. Getting Tim Grant and MWZ back should help.

I'm more thinking our best players starting regardless. Also that wasn't one of Griffin's negatives.

Still not sold on Egan tbh. He’s still very very raw. Came on today when Our forwards finally starting rolling forward with the wind behind their backs whereas Katoa was trying behind a badly beaten forward pack against the wind.

I’d swap them next week for sure though. He deserves a shot.

I'd argue Egan was the reason they starting rolling forward better.

A change is a must but yep. Swapping one rookie for another
