Geez other coaches must snicker when their team comes up against us.
What do you do with a team that has no confidence? Give the new fullback one game then move him to the wing after telling him all preseason he'll be first choice fullback. No wonder these guys play with so little confidence.

Exactly. What do you do with a naturally talented young player? Say to him “back yourself. I want you to go for it. If you make mistakes that’s ok”.

Nope. You drop him after one f**king game. Absolutely disgraceful. Sack this merkin now before he does more damage.

His reaction to the loss shows he is feeling the pressure of looking at a one win from 8 game start if you look at the sides we play in coming weeks. The only win IMO in the next 7 games provided the competition continues is the Warriors and that may be a forfeit ! Surely that will be enough to finally remove him from the job !

Good point. Bring Aitken back in as well Mary, that should help you out.

Exactly- Dufty has had umpteen chances to nail down the full-back spot and failed- defence, high ball, positional play, lack of strength to prevent being rag dolled- he's just not a full- back. Lomax drops a couple of balls in greasy conditions and Mary reneges on his promise- I bet Lomax is regretting his decision to re-sign with the Dragons with contrary Mary still in charge.

It was never going to happen but I would have picked Fuimaono or Ford at right centre- I thought Fui went OK there as a replacement against the Tigers. Also, the halves were again rubbish- Clune needs to be in there somewhere

I am one of the strongest advocates for sticking and picking with Lomax on here and after reading the team list and punching a tree my hope is that Lomax isn’t being dropped as such. Hopefully they think Saab isn’t ready yet and it’s just a temp fix as Dufty can’t play wing but Lomax can. Hopefully Rava is back soon or we get Jennings on board. At least at wing Lomax will still get some catching practice.

Or better still the bloody club could actually tell us the thinking behind it so we dont all have to guess.

Rava is injured, Saab may have a niggle or capability issue the coaches are worried about and Sailor isn't really impressing anyone except some media friends of Wendells so Dufty is it. Mary probably wants the most experienced team on the park ( apart from Aitken who thankfully is goooone ). Dufty is a specialist fb and Lomax is the best replacement for Rava.
There's a lot anger on here over these selections but they're kinda logical. Anyway just try to enjoy it, it's likely the last game for a while.

I get that you’re being rational, and I am clearly pissed. But even rationally I can’t agree.

Moving a spine player to the wing to cover an injury is unheard of. Lomax has been dropped.

Like most of your work but sorry this time you are being an apologist for a shocking selection decision.
If Rava hadn't been injured in game 1 would you agree with giving Lomax just 1 game and then instantly going back to Dufty?
If you can't agree with that then you can't agree with this blooper as a winger is what was required nothing more nothing less and if you don't think Lomax is a FB then I can assure you out of all games he has played including trials clearly show wing his worst position.
It was all very easy but fumble mum managed to find a way to complicate the show and muddy the waters.

A question for everyone with the knowledge Rava is injured and Saab is injured or out of favour. Would you rather a. 1. Lomax 2.Lafai 3. Aitken, b. 1. Dufty 3. Lafai 2. Lomax or c. 1. Lomax 2. Dufty 3. Lafai? If Saab is carrying some injuries or a had a bad off season these are our only realistic options. The option we went with is probably what I would have gone with. I expect them to switch around on occasion and Lomax can still work on some things from the wing. Im obviously taking a positive angle but this is what I believe was the thought process.

The point is, chopping and changing will only lead to more losses and his eventual demise.
Reeks of desperation...
Casting eyes the team list at 4.05pm, did not make for happy reading.

It's a replay of last season with the backline shuffle and the coach is clearly digging his own grave.

I'm not unhappy about that...
