I think the dogs will cause a few upsets this year. If they can get their defence on track they won't be the easy beats they are being made out to be.
They are obviously a bit lacking up front but they have some talented young players who could improve quickly.

I just think it’s going to be really hard for those young guys to improve while the team is lacking up front.

The issue they have is they have to improve against a Panthers that gets teams back peddling and beaten for field position. Even the Storm succumbed to it in the GF.

Run through all the team list this week and find me a better bench than ours, i don’t think there is one. Bias an all that no doubt but no team I can see has forwards as good as leniu and Martin on the bench, add in a great utility in May and a very solid eisenhuth and I think we have the best bench going round at full strength.
Raiders once CHN gets back are very strong. Ryan James, CHN, Hudsong Young. One very good forward like that will miss the 17 all together.

It will surely be an interesting contest this week.

Great opportunity for us to go 2-0.

The Storm has the advantage of the 9 day break given they are playing Thursday night again.

Round 2 a solid win is all that is needed, don’t need to win by a huge margin. although it would be nice.

Looking forward to it, away from home against a side who will be desperate not to go 0-2.

Should be a good test.

Let’s not under-smug this impending massacre.

I appreciate that some humility has crept in since last year despite a willing effort v cowboys.

The only real question seems to be whether or not you smash them by 30, 40 or 50 points.

You heard it here first smugletly buddies.

Their forwards are not the full quid.

Backline contests might offer some mild amusement for 10 minutes or so. A raised eyebrow from an almost dropped pass.

Hopefully Dylan has another outstanding game.

I agree as a whole team of 13 and bench, ours is stacked, but i saw the warriors bench on the weekend, it was impressive, BMM, Big bad Bunty, ArmOww, and the Jazz as their utility

I've really come around on Matt Eisenhuth. There was period where he and Cleary were covering for Martin and they pulled some good scramble defence tackles. I'm happy to have him after seeing that. It adds brings something different to the team. Most of the time you need some experience to read the play and get to where you need to be early enough/ pace yourself so aren't too gassed out to make it or the natural talent of reading plays. Not a lot of forwards have that natural talent or are build that way (to pace themselves) mentally. Leota and Tetevano have their strength but aren't really those type of players. That kinda thing is more of a James Graham/Isaah Yeo mould.

And it might just be him getting the ball passed to him by Yeo a bit more/a more disorganised Cowboys line but it seemed like he was making a bigger impact hitting the line than he did during the trials which is encouraging.

I don't for a second think they will beat us. As you say their improvement will be slow because they don't look to have much go forward to build off.
I just felt they showed a bit of potential.

After the way Flanno complained about Wade Graham in that trial I really hope we can get Martin at Flanno, he will get under his skin if they are on the same side for sure.
