I was at the game, and even through we scored early off a dodgy call, Souths looked far better and were really fired up. We may have capitulated a little but there is a lot you see off camera and Souths played a near perfect 70 minutes of football. Any team would have been as shell shocked if the opposition scored 4 converted tries in 9 minutes. It was a really entertaining loss to watch to be honest.

Really? That's interesting watching on TV we seemed to be rolling through them easily getting up the field, plenty of of metres being gained and half breaks and then Moylan hits Johnston on the chest and we just get belted.

Must win game this week.

(I'll cut and paste that comment into every game day thread for the rest of the year)

I will personally be going to the game to ensure we get the win.

"personal preference" meaning there is no real counter argument. That's fine I can accept that, just don't tell me he offers more or is a better centre because that's just not true anymore.
Exactly.

There's no legitimate reason to bench Peachey and shift Waqa Blake to the opposite side of the field to include one player because he was the best centre 3 years ago.

Whare in means:
Blake has to be moved to the wrong side
Peachey has to be benched and every minute he is off is a waste
DWZ loses his combination with Blake
Mansour loses his combination with Peachey

Who exactly is better off with Whares inclusion? It holds back 2 players who are better then him and splits up 2 combinations that have proven to be successful.

Whare should be the first backup player picked. But he's not a better centre than Peachey or Blake. In 2014 he was. Definitely. But today hes just a solid player.

Maybe for the first 5-10 mins but as soon as Sam Burgess muscled up in defence, can't remember who he hammered and that scuffle broke out they were all over us. We needed the likes of Merrin or Tamou to play the hard headed enforcer type role but the pair pulled a heartilage.

Outside of DWZ we don't have that guy in our side and until we have that steel in our forward pack won't win a comp.

Mansour isn't the player he was, Neither is RTS. It takes a good 12-18 months playing to get back after ACL injuries for me he isn't hopeless. We don't use our centres enough so prefer Peachey closer to the action. The problem with that is we are fit and have 80min backrowers. Even RCG is playing 60 mins so it is tough keep him in the centres getting no ball and being no better or worse in defence. Or on the bench hoping to find 60mins for him

You can count on one hand the amount of clean ball our centres have gotten this year. Peachey's defence is just as bad and he is stuck on the left side hoping our halves finally use the centres. Having Peachey on the bench allows him to come on against tiring defence and follow the ball to be there for those half chances. Problem is not giving him enough minutes

The bold is another reason to have Peachey over Whare IMO. Whare needs good clean ball to be effective, Peachey can create something from anything. He can just take hit ups out of our own end all game and can still have a huge impact, Whare cant do that, if Whare has to run one out or from dummy half at a set, fast moving defensive line he is getting dominated in the tackle 9 times out of 10.

Peachey is just a better player right now, considerably so, we are a better side with Peachey in the centres than him sitting on the bench. Further to that Peachey allows Waqa to play left centre which makes Waqa more effective.

Im not saying Whare is hopeless by any means, but he is just a solid centre right now, he certainly is not worth restructuring our whole back line for. He can recover in reserve grade.

Has Peachey got 60 minutes off the bench all season? When someone got hurt perhaps but not usually. He gets more touches playing centre mate.

I'm sorry but we just disagree on this.

I would not play Peachey at centre (assuming a fit Whare) because I think a good smart team with a high quality centre could reproduce what Chambers did opposite him and the result would be the same every time.

surprised he would come in. Usually the mere mention of the words Matt Moylan sends them into a blind rage

losing Nathan after 2019 will send all you guys into a worse rage...
we will double the 600k a year you will offer him...
I might even take him out for a trip around the harbour on my yacht

Hes looking at signing a 5 year extension... we will not only have him beyond 2019. We will have him well below market value.

We keep our good players. How are Tedesco, Woods and Moses going?

Luke Lewis....?How is he going.....he has a title belt...
