They are extremely talented so yes it’s very possible.

it’s very possible Tago starts at centre but I just it’s more likely he ends up in the backrow at some point.
Haha ok. Call me nostradamus. Im with 110% confidence predicting they wont start there next year. Id be suprised if turuva plays a game there all year. He might see a few games at wing or fb.

Tiny might see game time there too but he wont start there. If im wrong ill come back and eat my humble pie.

Tago very well play on the bench next year not centre i do not know what ivans thinking. But if hes not centre momo will definitley be first cab of the rank.

I agree on i think tago will end up in the back row down the track. But imo thatll be later in his career when he loses a bit of his speed and agility.

Hahaha no. He doesnt have the acceleration to be as good as teddy or turbo. When he gets going hes quick but teddy and turbo have that brilliant speed over the first 10. Teddy looks rapid in his movements and turbo is quite a graceful mover but they are both much quicker or first 10 or 20 than burto.. and the first 10 or 20m is where it really counts.

I think i was the first on here this year to call for burton at fb when edwards got injured. I got hammered and everyone wanted critta there.

I think he would do a really good job there if given an extended run as hes just an allround footballer. But saying hed rival two of best fbs in last 20 years is silly. Only slater is better than them.
A lot of us said last year he should be tried at fullback.

Nathan Cleary is currently the best player in the game and yet I truly believe Burton is more talented. Going to kill me for the rest of my life how we lost him

Not much you can do in these circumstances. There is only so many halves positions in the side

We will see mate but Ivan can be unpredictable and he has no problem giving young talented guys a go. Critta went from a couple games in 2019 to starting in 2020. Staines went from a couple games in 2020 to starting in 2021. May could very easily do the same. Momo has been in and out of the side numerous times already this year. I just don’t agree that Ivan will only pick Tago or mom at centre, that’s just a convenient argument for you and tbh I’d rather rely on mom and May or Turuva kicking on then Sorensen or one of the unsigned players you mentioned as the bench edge forward. Sorensen is huge drop off from Martin coming off the bench. Bench impact is very important on top of that Martin and kikau won’t be available all year, suspension, injury and origin will see them miss games so the next edge forward up will likely get plenty of starts.

I don't think Ivan himself knows who he wants in the centres. Every week he changes his mind. So no doubt Tago plays both roles. As Martin will play a couple too

Lets just pick the jersey flegg team every week and be done with it.

You say that like it’s a bad thing but we have become a powerhouse by promoting young guys into first grade, that is where we are getting most of our best players from.

They dont just come in tho.

Penrith since gus came back has been pretty methodical about the junior development.

If they are a forward they tend to get limited mins and go up and down between grades.

If there are a back they normally have to start on the wing and force there way into centre or fb or there preferred spot through numerous good performances.

Staines this year has been given every opputunity on the wing to force ivan into moving edwards but it hasnt happened. If your going to force someone out you need to earn it imo.. not just get it because you "might" be better there.

Sounds like your just expecting turuva or Tiny to come in at centre and kill it and be fine in defense. Or your happy for momo to be centre?

If tiny or turuva somehow get a centre spot in 2022 it will be due to injury or they have truly earned it and shown they are up for it defensivley. That will come from either standout games in cup or knocking the door down on the wing in nrl.

If staines had knocked the door down on the wing all year than i have no doubt edwards might have been moved but alas he has been to consistent and strong and staines just hasnt shown enough.

Many guys get taste one year and regulars the next mate I don’t think that’s up for debate. Ivan’s got a long history of pickling talented teens and turning them into regular first graders

Not hard to pick talented teens at penrith...

Its not some special skill he has. All our coaches have always been blessed with the biggest junior nursery and prodigous talent in the comp by a long way and they all have brought in juniors who have kicked on.

Dont need to be an nrl coach to pick the good ones.

Almost any nrl coach could come into our system and know who will be a gun.

Cleary has been average this year imo..

Spencer has gone backwards and his development has faltered under ivan. Staines hasnt really improved all year in attack or at all in attack from last year. Defensivley hes gotten better but ciraldo is the defensive coach.

Critta hasnt really improved in attack.

Leota in his first year starting has been hit and miss.

Hes had his successes to but it hasnt all been peaches for ivan.

Looks to have done well with hopgood and a few others.

Not bagging him at all..i just think all our coaches have always been able to bring through good juniors and develop them. Its what our clubs about, especially simce gus came back so all of the time ivans been here!

Ivan has has us with a young nrl team doing incredibly well and a young nsw cup team doing incredibly well that is not up for debate either.

Not a big Ivan fan but he has picked players like Yeo who had no hype. He saw what others didn't

too, fish, yeo, Luai, nathan, Martin have all kicked on incredibly well since Ivan came back. Plenty others as well but those guys in particular have been massive improvers over the last couple years.

The lack of success in the last 50 years suggests otherwise. Ivan and to be fair Hook have done this better than anyone else. The influence of Gus has obviously played it's part, but the big nursery isn't a new thing. It's never been tapped into effectively though. Sheens and Wiley did pretty well with it before Gus came in and added the polish for 1991. 2003 was more a case of getting lucky with things coming together at the right time, it wasn't something you could see being built through junior development.

Thats not the point you were trying to make haha.

Sure hes got us doing well with an incredibly talented roster. If we werent it would be cya ivan. Its not like he assembled this roster and found these kids.

You said hes got a long history of picking talented teens and bringing them through. Which i think hes had his hits and misses.

Most of the young guys that have been mentioned were either sighted by gus, jim jones or his team of scouts. Were than nursed through the juniors by the programs gus put in place..

By the time they got near fg everyone at the club would have known they were fg material. Guys like yeo and stuff were killing it for the wolves and were obviously brought in the through weight of good performances.

Most coaches in the nrl would love to have all our options and junior nursery to reach on.

For how good yeo, martin, luai, too etc have been this year..

Kikaus gone backwards criita and staines havet progressed as much as wed like..leotas been rocks or diamonds. Spencers gone backwards.

As i said his had plenty of hits and misses. Its easy to remember the good ones who are still with us but it hasnt been all peaches like i said. Like hook was good with the juniors too for crying out loud haha..waqa had his best years under hook.. so did rcg before injury..etc etc
