Cant say I'm surprised really.

We're gonna have more charges than ever, most of them will be shoulder charges, and you'll probably see other incidents that are far worse, which players would get off scott free.

The only thing confusing me is how someone can get up after being tackled, face the marker and step 2 metres to the side and play the ball and get a penalty for markers not standing square. It just shows how completely and utterly useless the referee's are. They either do not know the rules, are blind or cheats. In no other line of work could somebody be so bad and keep their job.

The ruck is as messy as I've ever seen now. The markers are almost always never square and usually cheating back a few metres.

The guy getting up to play the ball will take a few steps, not touch it with his foot, nor is he anything close to resembling north/south.

It's a total disaster.

6 charges for shoulder charging.
Holy f**k they opened a can of worms after Willie's suspension.
They should have just given Evans a deserved week or two and this madness would have been prevented.

Far too logical there, much better to just rip the game into a f**king tailspin of suspensions because the MRC were too pussyfooted to apply the old rule properly

While i do agree with shoulder charge ban these new rules are a joke. The on field product is being turned to shit by the NRL.

I'm noticing this a lot lately, as well as the tackled player getting up and shoving the marker offside, or wrestling with the tackler on the ground and not allowing them to get to marker.

The Bulldogs forwards are basically playing tunnel ball out there and are just being "coached" on it by the refs.

With up to 5 sets of eyes available to look at all these things, how do they consistently get it so wrong? It's not like we're asking 1 ref to look out for all of these things at once. Or maybe Archer is doing just that?

It's been said so many times before, but - stop calling them by their first names - use numbers, stop warning them and just put the whistle in your mouth. Yes fans will complain about penalties, but it's a better look than focusing on one thing for a week and then letting it happen or just coaching to it the next 7 weeks.

That is absolutely disgraceful. I'm happy Milf got off but I'm legimately right behind the other clubs for these other abominations. How the f**k is Taufua sitting out a week?

Manly, I hope you make a massive song and dance about this. Bring the shoulder charge war right back to the fore.

I know, JWH is one of the worst offenders, but he at least rightfully doesn't get a penalty.. Start penalizing players who blatantly walk off the mark or make absolutely no effort in playing the ball. Watch Inglis or the Burgess brothers, they are an abomination. It is so blatant, it is compounded when Isaac Luke piggy backs off that with a forward pass. It allows the forwards to get such a roll on, takes the markers out of play. It is a joke and someone needs to fix it. rant over. ;-)

The only 'real' shoulder charge in the past few weeks was by Kane Evans. The rest are basically 'collisions' (I will admit I missed Guerra's when watching the game and refused to watch the replay of the first half ) that were the result of the defender turning their body on impact, on many occasions like Keary, they came off second best. Common sense please, penalty sufficient for these kinds of incidents if at all.

I reckon every player should go out and shoulder charge this week to highlight how stupid this rule is..

The game is ruled by knee jerking soft c**ks.

Paasi nearly kills Brett Morris by intentionally taking out his legs midair and he is looking at no weeks off with an early guilty plea?

The only player nearly killed this weekend was Ryan Morgan. I thought they were administering last rites at one stage, yet 2 minutes later he is hitting the ball up full steam. It was like the second coming of Lazarus (not Glenn or that rapist that Nick Pappas reckons is a top bloke).

Its a problem when the biggest talking points are the rubbish judiciary charges, (and those that play for some teams that can't get charged) not the footy that was played over the weekend, and the run in to the finals.

I like this. In the first 2 minutes everyone do an incredibly soft shoulder charge on an opposition player, once everyone Is on report get on with the game. The nrl will have no option but to suspend every player because they used no common sense when they wrote the rule. Obviously never going to happen, but is a novel idea
