Round 24 v Dogs

Agree,
The other halves who should be under scrutiny also are Cleary, DCE & Johnson. None of these have been setting the field alight but for some reason Hunt is the main in the headlights.

IMO it is because the Murdoch Media love the Broncos. Them and their fans are bum hurt they lost hunt and don't have a halves pairing anymore. Since then the media seem to examine Hunt under a very fine microscope.

Anyway back on track. Tough game as always against a fired up Dogs side, for what I have been told we need to be better than last week to secure a win even at Kogarah. Hoping they do it for Nighty..but emotion alone wont seal it. Dogs can leak points, but are now starting to score em. Tough watching on TV next Sunday arvo..with Gus saying the Dragons looking nervous or the Dogs are coming to get them.. or something similar

Just goes to show where we put our priorities; select Nightingale to give him a send off. We need to select the best form players we have available and Nightingale is not in the mix. Morris will run rings around him all afternnon.

Hunt has been spiralling down on form since he sustained a leg injury the week before Origin One. On Saturday if he had scored that try after his stepping run the Hunt story might have been very different. The foot that stopped him placing the ball over the line might have stopped Hunt's rehabilitation.

This next game V Dogs will say more about where we are as a team and what we have learned from previous seasons, than any other game this year.
If we go soft and pick for sentimental reasons, then that will be a disaster and will cause a loss of faith.
If we fail to beat the Dogs, then that will show we have absolutely no momentum nor have we learned the importance of playing to your highest potential when it matters most nor the importance of stringing wins back to back after you have just supposedly emerged from a slump.
No doubt many will say "Oh but the Dogs are vastly improved and now scoring points" I say, so what, let's concentrate on what we are doing and largely forget about the opposition.
A good solid win will create momentum for us and cause others to look over their shoulder.
A loss this week in the oppositions eyes will consign Saturdays win to the view that the Tigpies were ultimately shit and so are we.

Agree with Possum, Nighty should only play if it believed that he offers us more than the two wingers who played last Saturday. I'm not convinced.
Agree, No reason why Nighty can’t get a presentation before kick off or half time.
No reason to drop Nene or JP.

This is going to be one of those games that you can put in the ‘ nutcracker ‘ category.
The doggies are chomping on the bit at present and it would send their crazy fans into meltdown phase if they can put the Dragons fire out .

As so many have already said, the boys need to get out there and play some good basic football, hopefully eliminating the flow of penalties that have set the team back on its heels in the last 2 outings. A huge improvement in our defense coupled with good attack should be enough to get the Red & Whites home .

They need to improve their all round game and they have only 2 weeks to do so . Tough match , but I believe that the improvements shall come and also being at Kogarah , the Dragon faithful will bring them home . Dagons by 8 :innocent:

No.. I dont think we will pick Nighty, or least I hope not. I said it as they will give him a farewell at the ground playing or not and Dragons should lift for him and of course other reasons

To me its simple. Dragons just gotta out enthuse in attack and defence (all 17 - not watch someone else or wait for someone else to do it). If cant do that then they are wasting everyones time in talking about anything in a press conference or media

Didn't Mary drop Benji for a couple of games and then bring him back for a final send off at Kogarah a couple of years ago? I could be just imagining it though, it may have been a hamstring that kept him out for the previous weeks???

Rain predicted from Friday to Sunday.

This means it will be a beautiful sunny afternoon at Kogarah, the sun will shine, Roosters, Storm, Souffs and Panthers already lost their games....we’re gonna put some points on.

Dufty, Hunt, Aitken will make a statement. Lafai will kick 7 from 9.

I’m going sick Monday to rejoice.

I am going to see what my dreams tell me this week about the result and report in. I also hope Sharks lose as well.

Bingo. Very little of what goes on in the mainstream nrl media makes sense unless you see it through the lens of what NewsCorpse wants. Then things become much clearer. Honestly when the main NRL correspondent in the biggest selling tabloid is a barely literate, utterly hypocritical, rarely coherent, obviously compromised hack like Buzz Rothfield something is very wrong. And when the so called serious analysts like Kent show no regard for being seen as consistent it becomes more obvious still.

Love the ‘NewsCorpse’ comment, throw in ‘Buzz Jokefield’ for his seriously twist view in everything nrl and you have the Daily Double.

Exactly, mate. They're all being paid a wage from the same place and will be told what content to push. There's no coincidence that our recent losing streak was so well publicized than other years with Hunt at the club now too. In previous years it has gone almost unmentioned.
