Most disappointing was the crowd..only 7500 or so.....that is shit....If the panthers fold or merge one day due to lack of crowds...well we can only blame those who stay home.
Hope we get more supporters than the bunnies do against us next week.

Yep. When we lose home games next year these same 'fans' will be the 1st to complain. It's a disgrace we can never get people to the game.

It was percentage football...grind and Soward kicked well.

Defence was outstanding..a lot of hurt from Docker out there tonight.

Wish ET would get more involved at times just seems quiet.

There are some that bag Brown...but geez he is hard and a bit of an animal we need him to counter balance some of the guys who drift off in games.

Anyone think Manu will get time for the crusher tackle?

You might blame fans or even non-fans for not showing up but really, just like any other business, it is the clubs job to get them interested.

If they can't then they either have to rethink their approach or question their relevance.

We have almost 13k members double last season. So cleary people do want to want to get involved yet aren't showing up. No one to blame for that bar the fan. Not saying everyone should go to every game. But 80% seems acceptable.

On Manu, I don't care if he makes no hit ups for no meters, he's an offensive weapon. So long as he's compressing defences and opening up room out behind him, or if the defence fails to compress he's punishing them with Manu barges I'm happy.

Two plays before the last DWZ try Wallace gives it to Manu pretty far infield and Croker rushes in to swarm him along with the two other inside defenders and they make the tackle. Outside there's Whare and DWZ against just the winger in a mile of room. Then the ball goes left for a settler. Then the ball comes back to Wallace with Manu running the same line, Croker comes in to help defend him again and the winger trails him in, it leaves Wallace a massive undefended space to kick it to DWZ.

The likes of Brown and Taylor need to be making meters to earn their keep, they don't have the same effect on defences as Manu, Manu I'd rather we continue to keep out of the middle. His defence is also great when he's not giving penalties away.

Penrith crowd comes when Penrith win, really we could have predicted the shit turn out this week straight after the Parra game.

Pretty much. As I said at the start of the season, a back three of Taylor, Brown and Docker holds no fear for the opposition defense. We should be seeing it as little as possible now that Manu's back.

Putting aside their contribution in attack, the Bunnies will love playing against such a light forward pack, especially when Latimore and Plum are the front row. When we had that team running around in the second half we started to go backwards. Its only when Grant, McKendry and Manu came back on did we start to get some forward momentum again. Luckily Soward can kick the bejesus out of the ball and he was able to get the Raiders back in their own twenty most of the time.

To beat the Bunnies we need to drop Brown or Kingston (both?) and get a heavyweight in from NSW cup. Somebody who won't take a backward step. If we can just hold the South's forwards, we will beat them. They don't have much in attack besides Inglis.

Souths will come for war. We need to man(u) up.

Yes. True.

But I fail to see how a customer focused organisation could blame their customers - it would be arrogant to do so and worse, it could lead to overlooking improvements or ignoring problems or issues.

With memberships it has been an excellent effort, though there is question about how many of those memberships are about getting to games? Do we sell pet memberships like souths.

Bottom line is that the single most telling statistic about the support of a club is attendance. And so far this has been not so good.

It will come. If they keep trying and maintain a focus on the fans. If they start blaming fans or finding excuses, it won't.

Of course, you could just say fans only come when we win so let's just win and everything will be rosy. But ... No.

It was fantastic to see DWZ have success on his debut, wasn't it?

Dwz went good
thought soward played great
think the low crowd was due to a number of factors
dodgy weather
empathy after parra loss (here we go again given panthers under elliot form shown)
Wanderers playing roar at pirtek -laterr I know but a lot of panther fans I know also support the wanderersand they where all going to say goodbye to ono

mckendry played better than grant imo if we keep one of id go for mckendry

I wasn't at the game as it was my sisters birthday and we went out for dinner. But seeing the weather on the TV, had we gone we would have been leaving early on anyway. We have a 15 month old kid and a 3 month old kid, and you just can't take them out in weather like that.

There's also a conflict with a lot of the sports played on a Saturday. My missus just started her netball season last week, and she is pushing it to even be at home by 4.30 to shower and get ready to go out. If we were going to the game yesterday, there's absolutely no way we would have made it before kick-off. I'm sure there are plenty of fans who have similar issues getting to games... weather being a deterrent due to having kids, and sports conflicting with the time slots.

Pomoz. I agree we are missing Masoe big time as expected. Cherrington is on the bench in NSW Cup but can do that role.

The problem is our best forward in NSW Cup is Anderson. Not that big though always breaks the 1st tackle. That would still work as would Peachey's speed & footwork.

Our bench last night had nothing special so lacked that impact. What we did well was use Idris as an extra forward.

Wouldn't drop Brown or Kingston for the Bunnies game, and really don't think Cleary would. I expect the same team except for maybe DWZ's wing spot. Brown made a lot of meters after the line last night.

Peachey did of a bit of carving yesterday though, and Cartwright more so.

Thought Grant and Mckendry walked a really fine line in holding down in the tackle and got away with it.

Manu might miss a week for the crusher.

Solid effort for the team in atrocious conditions.

Next week is a must win. If we drop a few games we will be well out of the eight.

Big forwards battle next week.

Latimore again very good. Only one of our forwards to make over 100m. Didn't miss a tackle either.

Brown is one tough mongrel. He had a good game yesterday. Likewise Kingston did a mountain of defence. I would not drop either of them and I don't think Cleary will either.
