Theee is no doubt bar the tigers this is the most even competition in a long time.That is to our favour as we may have dropped a touch from last years squad
But at this point no other squad has got better .The last 2 rounds Cleary has taking the shackles off and we are playing a more open brand of footy
Hosking could well be the Best Buy in a long time strong in attack great in defence and can play long minutes vital in a forward rotation .There are still things that need improvement but you want that at this time early in the competition

I'm a simple man with simple needs. I love Mitch kenny just want him to stop giving penalties. The thing that will get him isn't the severity of the tackles but the repeated infringements.

I'm liking that young prop and Hosking more each game. Luke is a star shame about his injury history. The try assist for Sorensen was football porn.

we win the Parra game if Luke stays on the field but given the HIA the way it is. A different style of player off the bench would be handy

They were running Weekes a fullback at 6. At one stage had Cooper Johns ( Who isn't FG standard ) on the wing.

Put Schuster, Garrick and Koula in that team and it is much closer

Look at Edwards hat trick.

1st Try Tuilagi pretty much moved out of the way

2nd try Weekes had an air swing trying to tackle him.

3rd try as a decent try

4th try Cleary's pass hit the ground - Manly stopped expecting a forward pass call.

That said Tago a few times had Turuva unmarked but hogged it. A few passes still hit the ground.

So it is hard to get a read on.

Also we likely get Garner and Martin into the backrow next week, So need to see how they mesh into the attack

It’s like you aren’t comfortable with the Team playing well.

Our 1st half was good. 2nd half was 12-12 and error riddled.

Last week was 13-6 at halftime.

Good to see Luke have a good hit out last night. A nice bit of craftiness. I thought he played well. I hope he can stay fit and build on that.

Two games where we played well, so too small sample size to show whether we are the real deal this year. That said, a couple of points:

- In attack, Kikau could be immense, but he was always a bit lazy in defence. Mind you he is hauling a big frame around so I understand his lack of energy at times. Hosking is the opposite. I think our defence is better with him in the side. We also have more flexibility because Hosking has a great engine and could play 80. His attack is not as good, but there are signs he could be a good player in attack given a bit more time to gel with our halves. Hosking could be in the running for buy of the season if he continues the form he has shown in the last two games.

- Luke showed why he is in the team. Two try assists in one game and the no look pass was a cracker. The Batman and Robin combination with Kenny could be winning combination if Luke's body can handle it. Robin, the boy wonder, certainly knows how to get the attack moving once Batman's taken a beating on his behalf. We just need to make sure we get him out the Bat Cave early enough to make a difference. POW!

- As for Kenny is an old school "nails" hard hooker. He gets pilloried for basically not being Api. Too slow, bad passes, he gets a lot of slagging off even though we keep winning games when he is hooker. Kenny really adds to our defence more than most hookers in the NRL, including API and when he is moved out of hooker, he is happy to run the ball up Reuben Cotter style and get bashed. He gets no credit for that, or the fact he normally bends the line with his leg speed. Against Manly, 5 runs, 55m. What a great team player he is. I'm sure he wants to be a star hooker, but he just does his best and when Luke is on he starts doing the tough stuff taking hit ups through the middle. No sulking from him, eh Stephen?

- I think somebody must have told Crichton to pull his finger out. He actually run for over 100m. Big improvement, but still not what he is capable of. Come on Stephen, you can be a rep quality centre if you just believe in yourself.

- It was good to see our stars starting to show some form. Cleary, Luai, Yeo and Leota all looked like they are getting over their World Cup blues.

Yeah but with the exception of the cheese the team hasn't changed much in the past few years.

I agree with 99.9% of you me post Pomoz, but while 2 games on its own is a small sample size, it corresponds (and is consistent) with a longer term trend.

Put another way; I am not sure there is any other fan base questioning if Penrith is the real deal!!

I think they are a huge danger

The way the Roosters play and train means all these players will never be available at the same time.

Also I wouldn't be counting on Crichton making a splash for them this season. Lots of smoke around his extra curricular activities. Personally I don't expect to see him on the field at all this season.

Sick and tired also of reading the word 'plodder' when referring to Scotty Sorrenson, or Zac hosking.

A plodder was a bloke like Purtell. Not the 2 above mentioned.
