It is cliche but this game on Sunday will be won or lost on our player's attitude and commitment on game day. They showed these qualities in spades yesterday and maybe that was because of the occasion and playing the opposition we did.

The challenge is now on the players to turn in that same attitude and commitment against the Tigers on Sunday who have shown the past couple of weeks that if they're not respected as an opposition they will make you pay.

In short the boys better fire up and show some guts on Sunday to spur them on and prove to everyone they're in finals contention this year.

This would be a good game to give one or two of Amone, Sullivan or Sloane a run as we could do with some youthful exuberance to keep the enthusiasm where it needs to be.

Do us all proud this week Saints!!

If Fuimaono/ Burgess can replicate Josh Macqire mental change this is a awesome forward pack.
I watched Fui play in ressies, and to his credit he has tried really hard to perform, with Burgess I think he still needs more time in top grade plus we havent heard if the operation was a total success as far as no pain, also there would be other things still on his mind.

Rava would have scored a couple more, if only Lomax had passed properly, rather than those crazy no look flick passes .
Should Rava have passed the ball inside before the coathanger?
Me thinks so.
Lomax did well with that 6th tackle break in the first half just a shame Bird was the only support but Roosters defended that well.

Ravalawa should've got the ball in that first one, not Bird. Cover always there on the inside. A good centre there drags the fullback infield before linking with the winger.

my gut feeling is Mbye will go to 6 and Sloan will come back in the side, I dont think Sullivan will be there, Amone to remain 14 and Fui in for Su'a, he has had a couple of good games in ressies. There is no doubt we will need more creativity out of the halves but what is my main concern is Rav not scoring a try since game one, what has happened to that side of our attack, and should be rectified immediately, maybe they are standing too flat and not enough depth, poor service , you name it but we are really wasting Rav there, if the Tigers are vulnerable , they will be out wide, so we need our edges firing on all cylinders, not just spluttering along as battering rams.

The only beef I have with Rav, good player that he is, is that in general play he does not seem to be able to beat his opposite on the outside as top wingers do. Rav is lethal close to the line, but tends to drift infield a lot of the time, and attempts to run through the opposition. Even so he should be one of the first players picked. Just my opinion.

I've watched a few of our line breaks this year and thought we lacked a Dufty / speed machine backing up, we could have laid on a few more tries for sure. Rav probably thought Tupou was going to go mid to low in the tackle and he could either burst through or at least keep his arms free for the pass - wasn't expecting a decapitation. Rav was almost back to his best though, good to see.

Good news Bird cleared to play. A win will give some much needed momentum for the season.
Are you sure Hard Yards about Bird is cleared to play? Fox Sports News says differently as per the following:-

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Wests Tigers at WIN Stadium, 4.05pm

Dragons team
: 1. Moses Mbye 2. Mathew Feagai 3. Moses Suli 4. Zac Lomax 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Jack Bird 7. Ben Hunt 8. Francis Molo 9. Andrew McCullough 10. George Burgess 11. Tariq Sims 12. Josh Mcguire 13. Jack de Belin 14. Talatau Amone 15. Blake Lawrie 16. Aaron Woods 17. Tyrell Fuimaono 18. Tautau Moga 19. Jackson Ford 20. Josh Kerr 21. Tyrell Sloan 22. Cody Ramsey 23. Jack Gosiewski 24. Jayden Sullivan

Players cut: TBC

Early Mail: Jack Bird (suspected broken arm) is almost no chance to play which means Talatau Amone will return to the No. 6 jersey. Amone started the first three rounds of the season at five-eighth and has played off the bench in every game since.

I agree.....we just lack that zip zip type of player dont we....thats where I thought Sloan would be good at the back......sniffing around any of our forwards when they get into broken play.....if you look at Papps from the Storm hes never far from where the ball is.....thought from the few games our young bloke played in he was doing that but obviously Hook is not happy about some areas of his game....with our backline Mbye, Rav, Lomax, Suli, Bird etc they are more of your stronger robust type of players not necessarily speedsters
