I agree with most of the above however no Bird and Rav isn’t the player he once was. Is he gun shy, I don’t know but he’s not making the meters and not hitting hard in defence because he’s afraid and rightfully so of been suspended.

Our recruiters, Pathways directors & all coaching staff need to get on the same page and get with the program of the modern game.
We just need a solid forward pack of workers and a backline with speed to burn. We have a decent half and captain, but seriously lack strike and speed in the dummy half and a lack of creativity.
No point signing senior sluggish players with experience as they just bring bad habits to a team.

Get it right you flogs and build the right foundations and not just a cheap Band-Aid solution.
This in a Nutshell .......

He was head of recruitment when wishart was coming through and they offered him nothing. He’s been moved to pathways now because he let a lot of good juniors go and ironically now looks after pathways. You reckon he’s not protected?
He has been, not anymore. He is not head of pathways in respect to grade from JF up, just recruitment admin and junior pathways coming in from outside.
My point was it was not Millwards decision to let Wishy go.
What do you mean the club done nothing for him, he played JF and reggies.
What more should they have done?
Just some did not see he would add value to 1st grade...rightly or wrongly is the argument

Then again they played the Warriors
Yes imagine being a warriors supporter with their wealthy ownership amd the pick of a country to bolster their squad if they can find any RL talent.
Buying so called superstars does nothing if you are not coached well and have the right squad around them
Warriors played against 12 men for 60, 11 for 10 and did not score 1 point when led 10-6 with 50 odd to go,
Now imagine their forum
Back to us, we were poor last 50 mins and defence fell to a heap
Some arse kicking needed before the Titans who will also get a coach rev up thanks to the Roosters

there is a huge gap in coaching ability between hook and fitzgibbon, just have a look at the game the sharks played today with 12 men.
being at home helped and the ref in the 1st half gave the Sharks the leg up they needed after they lost a man in respect to 6 agains and penalties
And the amount of times Sharks rolled the ball without touching it was gobsmacking to play fast like they did

The NRL have done a wonderful job over the years of evening out the competition hey, just look at the Melbourne roster of 13 representative players, with the 2 best 9s in the world in Grant and Smith in the same team is just one example of how the system they have in place now is a joke. Feckless management at all levels of the NRL and also at our once great club,
Exactly what I was thinking - the salary cap was meant to create a "level playing field" and yet Melbourne and the Rorters have nontheless been able to dominate over the last 20 years, with a resurgent Penriff being the new kids on the block. The comp is as lop-sided as it was in the 70s with Easts and Manly buying up everyone in sight. ( And yet we contested 4 Grand Finals in the 70s, and won two of them, because we recruited and developed quality players and had some coaches who knew their sh#t. )
