We have become really passive in giving up the ball In the first half. We are grinding down field and running on 5th but it is all we are doing.
Our edge back rowers are not getting used in attack and we just look out of ideas.

Defense was very good. Excellent defense tbf.
Attack clunky. Penrith need to move the ball a little more early in sets. Something they haven't done as much. It was a little predictable. Storms defense however was first class. They will be top 4.

Disappointing that there’s no urgency or interest in starting the season well for a team that’s won the last 3 GF’s. We look worse than at the start of last season.

People will say Storm defended great but they can’t be that great FFS we should have been able to score a try or two but simply no creativity or urgency for most of the game and when there was urgency late in the game there was no composure.

i wouldn’t be too bummed about the loss. Both sides attack was average, panthers probably borderline garbage to be honest but I’m happy with the defence. Tad unlucky that the overturned try turned into penalty then turned into the only try of the game. But right call, Hughes was bumped

The last 20 mins saw Luai move to 7 and Cleary 6. Neither looked comfortable tbh. If Cleary plays 6 he needs a like for like player at 7 hence why Cogger worked so well last year.

Storm were just too good defensively. Kept scrambling, May and Tago looked likely at times especially May. He will keep learning at center, few times he could have put Turuva away I think but chose to run it. Is what it is.

I liked Sommerton a lot! Bench was ok but need something different, Henry Smith and Eisenhuth are too similar work horse like. Geyer probably should have played maybe.

Once Kenny and Sorensen returns I think attack gets better and builds. End of the day sure they didn’t score a point but they also only let in one try which came off the back of an unlucky turn around denied try down the other end.

I think the biggest take away is really LOL at Tigers for 2025. Good luck if Luai is your chief play maker because when Cleary was ordinary - Luai had nothing.

He isn't even a particularly good 2nd option as a play maker. Has become a bit of a downhill skier - looks good linking up plays when the team is firing, but can never push uphill when the going gets tough.
