Round three vs The Storm

I'm starting to warm to the idea of Burton at 6 and Luai at 1.

Keeps Burton on his preferred left side. Allows Luai to roam and pop up in the middle of the field. Luai can still run left hand sweeps to feed Crichton and Kiks.

And Luai did play some Fullback in 20s

I would say there is probably no chance of this happening, and nor should it. While it may be an exciting idea we have a lot better options to fill in at the 1 until Edwards is back!

As far as Edwards goes it isn't emotional. He's a top 2 running fullback with Tedesco. Top 2 organisational fullback(defence) and is evolving his passing fairly quickly this year. The players like Gutho are going to have to be careful because he's going to sneak past them for rep jerseys. He's going from an average caretaker of the position to becoming one of the best on the back of work ethic.

Guths good but he shouldnt be considered for NSW. Centers should be
Latrel and Turbo.
Best,Staggs,Lomax,Crichton,Cotric all options also...
Fullbacks Teddy,Turbo,Papa

Question - why did the ref call time off as soon as Capes scored. I have watched every game this round and it didn’t happen anywhere else.

Coz its Melbourne, derfred... NRL wants/needs a strong Melbourne, thats why commentators are always faining all over them, a city that almost rivals sydney in population, but only has one team in it yet dominates is given every chance to win. If Melbourne wasn't such ALF heartland we'd have 4 teams minimum there by now

Plus the 5min rule too, if a game is close, the refs will call time off, so thet don't get blamed for the bias nature of letting attacking teams run the time down

Not at all. The criticism of him so far as I can tell isn't realistic.

How many wingers in the NRL are that small? I have Addo-Carr and Thompson only?

The average length of a FG career is 30 games

How many 20 year olds lose a whole year of playing?

So looking at it without the emotions there is plenty to wait and see about

I don't think it's emotional to disagree with the idea that he can't physically handle first grade. I haven't seen any of the signs other have to show it.

Wait and see is one thing but someone was in here saying he is scared to get tackled cause he kicked the ball twice against the cows. Franklin you pretty much had him coming straight out of the team for Naden as soon as his four weeks was up.

Staines is here to stay. It will take injuries a or a bad run of form for him to get dropped.

I have said it all along that Naden would be the winger if I was picking the team

Mainly due to the year lost in development last season and the fact I think Naden atm is a better FGer

Again. What is too say he can this early on?

He hasn't been injured or suffered any more fatigue than other players on the field while positively contributing. He has stood up multiple wing opponents who are much more experienced with one on one tackles as the defender, one of which is Sivo who has trampled many first graders including the best player in the game currently. He also stopped multiple tries through his speed against opposition speedsters. The evidence points more to him being able to handle it than not based on what we've seen so far.

I like Naden a lot and think he would make a great winger but Staines is already a better defender imo. He reads the game well he has shown that and based on the weekend and the cowsboys game Staines can hold his own against the games fastest players. He is a rare talent imo.

Exactly. He has handled his three games well, his best game so far this season was against the storm. That is a very good sign it will do his confidence wonders.

Yep he went toe to toe with the best winger in the game and in my opinion won it beating him in the race and also the one on one tackle over the sideline to save a try. He'd be feeling on top of the world.

And he had those stops on Kenny Bromich where he read it a few times and jammed on him. I think his talent level could be up there with Burtons tbh, if his vision and passing holds up at fullback whenever he gets a chance then he is going to be a special player cause he has the freakish speed and skills.
