Billy Smith had an outstanding come back from injury on the weekend, he did more in 1 game in the centers than Suallii has done all season, if the Roosters could get Dom Young over from the Knights early they could let go of Suallii and free up his 700k salary.

Given he is heading for the exit doorway, Shirley we can start claiming he was on over a million now?

He was never that good imho

He is good athletically but yes he is overrated. Everything with the Roosters gets blown out of proportion really. It is the effect of the Sydney media and that club being the media focus that they are.

Like look at Sam Walker. The amount of focus that one dropping has had is ridiculous. You’d think that he was the first player ever dropped to reserve grade.

Watching that performance, I agree. I will say there were quite a few moments where his teammates chose not to give him the ball either. I think there is some merit to this story. Im expecting him to definitely go by the end of this year.
He needs to go back on the wing where at least he’s great under a high ball. His defence at centre has been questionable

The thing about Suaalii is that unlike other big money converts, he isn't a household name.

Even Victorians knew who Wendall Sailor was, when you mention his name to a casual sports fan, they just stare at you blankly.

It is a strange signing all round. It is not a signing that will get much attention outside Qld-Nsw. The only attention it will get is from pure league fans themselves. Out of those fans, Im not sure many fans outside of Easts or Souths fans will even really bother to watch him in Union.

It may attract a few Samoan fans to follow him but I would not think that number would be significant.

Plus it is also strange in that his skillset mainly translates to being a winger in the 15 man code.

A very strange way to splash out a million and a half a year.

Souths were blasted from pillar-to-post for letting him go, yet once again that decision has proven to be the correct one.
A million times over correct. I did say Souths were right for not giving into his manager's unrealistic contract demands.

It is not worth keeping any player who demands a renegotiation of his contract every year. I respected SBW and him having short contracts. Suaaili demands are reflective of not backing himself at all.

They mismanaged it back then and we’re gonna make a play to get him back with a 2.7 mil offer if Latts didn’t resign. No correct decision in the end, just dumb luck that it worked out well for Souths LOL.

Yeah, dumb luck, sure.

Your club thought you could tame the ego after he "played under Robbo" and "learnt from SBW" and "The Roosters Way" and yadda yadda, but nope, he was out of there at the first chance, just as everyone expected.

Tbf if the roosters had said he would be fullback and made teddy move on and not extended him he would’ve stayed even if the money was higher in union

weedler was talking about that art dealer guy for ages saying this

Never denied my club backing itself and falling over badly, just questioning you thinking your club has some sort of vindication in all of this. You’re overlooking the fact that your club was going to pay 2.7mil to get him back if you couldn’t sign Latts. That “we won’t bend to his demands” kinda got forgotten so yeh, dumb luck.
