Must be a hard decision for NRL players: have to play a genuinely shthouse version of rugby but get paid more and get to go to the olympics and bed a Scandinavian pole vaulter. Tough one
Almost none of the Wallabies or All Blacks play Sevens Rugby anymore right?

Isn't that the domain of specalised players, like this dude who has scored 115 tries for Australia in 7s competitions, and hasn't played even one game of Super Rugby, let alone for the Wallabies.

That makes it easier then. no pole vaulters, no go to union

I was watching a preview of the upcoming FIBA basket ball world cup and they claimed based on global viewing figures it's the 2nd biggest world cup.

I was watching the woman's soccer world cup last night and the commentators mentioned it was the 2nd biggest world cup

But...but ... Rugby Union have already claimed that thier World Cup is the 2nd biggest lol
Soccer should be for Women only and Bastardball should be for male and females to play together.
Shit just found this thread as I'm a bit of a Cross Coder so got 40 plus pages to work throught....Oh Criey.

These 7s players travel the world playing multiple tournaments every year. I couldn’t name one of them.

I believe Will Warbrick and Lachie Miller both were on that circuit for a while before coming to the NRL
Both played league as kids
Don't know what level they got to at 15 a side

They’ve got bigger problems than which NRL player they want to pay overs for

The Wallabies’ Rugby World Cup campaignis already on life support after a humiliating 22-15 loss to Fiji early on Monday morning.
I was thinking this was a bad result for the growth of league in Fiji ?
The kids will want to play the code where they believe they can win as opposed to league where they get beaten by 30+

League could have completely taken over Fiji a decade ago if the game had shown any aspirations to grow outside its traditional borders.

I can’t see why this will hurt. I’m not sure why you’d even raise it. Union is massive there. We are growing nicely along side of them.

If the 2027 world cup in Australia is played during the same dates the group stages will be played at the same time as the NRL and AFL finals. The RUWC will struggle to get much media attention, especially in the AFL states.

But if rugby league wants to be aggressive and not allow any fresh air to Rugby they'll have internationals after the NRL season played during the RUWC finals. Having Fiji, NZ, Tonga, Samoa, PNG, Australia and a touring England playing a tournament would take away media and air from the RUWC. I wonder if League would have the balls to do it ?

Rugby may block out the stadiums like FIFA for women's world cup.

Not sure what grounds they plan on using
