It's not a bad game, apart from the fact they're always passing in the opposite direction to the one I tell them too. Had plenty of passes go straight over the sideline when trying to pass in the other direction.

Are you using the remote and nunchuck? Happens to me all the time too.

Only just picked this up, it's good fun, though on franchise mode having one or two players injured each game for 14-18 weeks kinda sucks. Ten of my starting 17 are gone with almost season long injuries. FMD lol

I think the game has an awful lot of bias against some sides and for other teams.

I had an entire squad of rep players in the sharks side one year and they still went on to be winless for one full season when I let the AI run the comp (I didn't play the actual matches myself)

I then went and sacked a heap of top players from the dragons and filled them with hacks and minimum contract players and they still made the 8

Sounds like a pretty spot on simulation to me

Almost except the fact that Souths are considered one of the powerhouse sides as well.

This alone makes the game quite dubious.

I'm up to my third season in franchise. I still enjoy the game. Injuries can be a nightmare but it sort of makes things interesting as well

I think it would be fun if you could do this, you can get sacked in franchise mode so why can't you have other clubs make you offers, that way if you are finding it easy you can test yourself at a lower ranked club without having to start it all over again.
E.G:
You select the club you want to start with (i.e Penrith) and get a 2 year contract. When it gets close to the end of the contract you get e-mails of the likes "Penrith would like to re-sign you for 2 more years", "Newcastle wish to offer you a 4 year contract to coach their club" "Bradford have offered you a 3 year contract beginning next season"... you get the picture. You have options like accept, decline, need time to think, I want a longer contrct or something along those lines and if you take too long a contract can be withdrawn.
Then you don't have to start franchise mode again and the teams stay the same.

That may be too picky and I'm not sure how many people would like that, but IMO that makes it that little more realistic

i like the sounds of that campbo, kinda along the lines of franchise mode in fifa where u get the option of progressing ur coaching/managing career in another competition with another team etc

another one would be if u go crap u get relegated to coaching toyota cup? can b offered origin coaching or even test coaching also if ur good.

Yeah like how fifa does it, that's where I was getting at. Like the idea of rep offers aswell. Although if they make another one, what is the chances of this happening?? Probz none.

I always wait till a while so I don't pay full price on games... and this one isn't even worth $30. Terrible on so many fundamental fronts, and I'm not talking about graphics.

yeah, it really isn't. i often wonder how many years those that say these games are "bad" have actually been gaming.

i mean "been gaming all my life" takes on considerably less meaning when you discover the subject is 16 years old. we're just so spoiled for choice and quality these days...

this game is bad when compared with multi-million dollar productions. it's actually very good when compared with the previous games in the series, or with nothing at all for that matter. not perfect, not excellent, but not horrible. quite playable, and a bit of fun.

I made the post yesterday after trying out this game again - it had been consigned to the bottom of the heap for some time. Dragged it out to play with my son. The reasons it has been gathering dust were confirmed. Maybe I am just useless at it - but the game seems almost uncontrollable - which isn't a problem as it doesn't seem to require much user input anyway.

I am comparing it to Madden 07 in Wii, or even the old arcade classic 10-yard-fight.

I'm no gamer though - casual interest only.
