Ants most recent AFL game was a good game if you have realistic expectations for what an Aussie business can do in this field. They've improved a lot from what they were doing 5-8 years ago. Fingers crossed they do a solid job here.

The original RL game was not that bad. It was RL2 and beyond that sucked

Mmm, not really...

Rugby League was a glitchy mess with limited modes & graphics. The only area I believe it held up in was difficulty.

Rugby League 2 cleaned up most of the glitches, had reasonable player models, a franchise mode, an improved customisation mode & gameplay. The only BIG area they fell down in was the AI which hadn't really been improved at all on RL1 but since there weren't glitches or poorly structured attack they were very easy to beat even on League God mode.

They can call this game whatever they want.. They can add a thousand new features, but my money will be on this being a turd of a game.

It's likely to release in 2-3 months, however it was not until a week ago it was confirmed and we've seen three pics of nothing.

RL2 was f**king balls. AI was even more geniused than in the original.

Franchise mode was awesome. No name rep players  constant 12-16 week injuries. Having to save before doing anything.

They have sold the game already to me because the players have their sick tattoos. Awesome.

The features they've added sound promising but it needs to play like a game of rugby league.

I loved Wallabies Rugby Challenge for the first three days because of how pretty it looked but then I realised there was no substance to the gameplay.

Some kind of set moves or players actually playing their positions would be a good start.

Well the tactical passing feature leads me to believe there will be some sort of structure to the attack, whether that means set play structures or not we are yet to see.

Ive been here before.. i think we all have..

I cant allow myself to be hurt and dissapointed by it again.. i just cant..
im not gunna do this anymore.. im not that guy anymore..

I want it so badly to be everything that i hope and dream of.. but it wont..
Dont be fooled by the features.. they use words like "dynamic tackling" to draw you in.. some of you i see are getting drawn in by it..

they do that to you.. they make you excited.. then they hit you with the crappiest gameplay youve ever seen in your life.. and then you think to yourself.. why? how? this cant be??

but..

i cant refuse.. i will buy it.. ive got to at least try it..

If im playing and i see this awesome animations and stuff. then it reverts to exactly the same view/graphics and gameplay of the other ones.. im gunna blow the roof off..

Mightyape has it up already for pre-order. $89.99

Estimated release date - 31st August.

Thats amazing... 9 weeks away. Can someone confirm this?

Also I wonder how often Duges will get injured

Can you customise a pimple on his arm or whatever it was :)

Well the tactical passing feature leads me to believe there will be some sort of structure to the attack, whether that means set play structures or not we are yet to see.

Tactical passing says to me that certain buttons pick out first second or third runners outside the ball carrier.

What id like is a good set play creator.

Ok hold on everyone.... ive gotta get this out before i continue to post in here about the game as release approaches...

I have been in this position since the 1st league game was released on xbox, all the features got talked up all the way until RLL (i took it back) and everytime ive been dissapointed.

So.... for me this one HAS to be about gameplay and fluidity (is that a word?)

The players have to move like they arent on ice or on tracks, i want the ability to move them the way i want to and the ball must have realistic physics.... IF i got these 2 features alone i think it would be an improvment on previous versions.

Yes the mud looks good, the sweat looks good the players faces (cronk and thurston) look amazing but if they run like robots and pass forward all day its not worth anythng to me.

Franchise is nice, wont be perfect im sure but its there.

Create a player/team is great and adds longevity

stadiums and grass that digs up and wears etc is all eye candy....

i just pray none of this has been at the detriment of GAMEPLAY!!!! If they truly listened then maybe just maybe...

Its game we have waited for...

And not realistic enough One player here should be on the ground holding his shoulder..

His shoulder is gone entirely, decapitated

Franchise mode has me sold, will definitely buy it now no matter how crap it may be.

tbh if RLL1 had franchise it would be better than any of the other League titles.

the screens for this one looks alot like Rugby Challenge in terms of detail and player models.

Anasta looks spot on as does Matai

I noticed they look to have captured a good decoy play here, the play started to the left, a player is running through and the ball is being passed behind him.
