Updated grass textures and lighting effects don't count....

exactly - its pretty much the same game, with new looks and a deeper career, with a few tweaks to the control scheme for the better - all improved from RLL2. its less clunky with no intercept problem
The AI has a few issues, but I found a good par on pro and veteran. legend is a pass-a-thon and rookie and amateur they are blind and dumb. online is fantastic, when they don't rage quit.
if anyone still has the game try tackling with the right stick - not pressing it, but flicking it in a direction u wish to drive tackle. use the controls like DBC - all sticks, no buttons until kicking or slowing down the ruck.
its not worse than RLL2, no chance

Just playing a couple of games of hot potato mode (be a pro). How the hell do you support the play/put guys through gaps when the passing from your team mates is so illogical? The only thing I can really do is sprint through the occasional gap that appears.

Also just had an instance in my own 20 where the halfback put up a bomb, it was tapped back by AI to an open player who was about 6m out from the line with no one in front of him, who instead of scoring put up a second bomb. Piece of crap.

 That's gold.

Nope, wrong

Take some of the money they spent on making it look "good" and make it actually work. Even a simpleton can figure it out.

It does "work" though. Unless of course you're confused about the meaning of the word "work," which most simpletons are familiar with

61% possession in my favor, 17 of 22 completions, 6 errors to 11, 74 tackles to 106, 14 missed tackles to 9 (against, which means they've been stepping me all day, even the forwards), 1 penalty to 7. The score was 24 nil at half time.

You would think that was pretty much a walk over right? Wrong. 30 all at full time, going into golden point. The only penalty I received was for offside, because my A.I TM didn't get back onside and my field goal attempt hit him dead on from 20 metres out in front of the posts.

This game and the developers that make it are f**king awful and should be fired. The laziness they show in balancing this game properly is just laughable.

Either a very lame troll or you're just a moron playing on Amateur so you can win by 60+ and convince yourself you're a superstar.

The fact that they're this defensive towards criticism only makes me more angry. Protected species, by virtue that the NRL could care less.

Ha. Bloody ross.

You know what would have been quite decent from him, is actually accepting that the game was not where it needed to be and promised to have it ammended ASAP with patches. At least inspire customers to keep the bloody game, instead he rips into any negative feedback like we are just clueless.

I agree.
His attitude and 100% defensive and aggressive attitude is well worse than the downfalls of the game.

I've played the game for maybe 4 or 5 hours since I bought it, and sure there are flaws. I still find the game to be fun and a challenge. Then again, I accept the flaws. I accept that the computer wants me to score 12 tries in a game for XP, or make well over the possible meters a game. I accept I can't play internationals in coach mode. I accept I can barely the team lists on the screen before they dissappear. I accept that I can't sign anyone before June 5th. I accept I can't make mid-season signings but the AI can. I accept that the AI plays hot potato. I can accept the AI makes some stupid decisions, passing when in the clear. Theres alot to accept, I've paid for the product. Now listen to what we think is wrong without getting on a damned high horse about it!

Sidhe & Bigant have NEVER been able to accept criticism & thats why their RL games will always be average. Nothing to do with the bankroll or the size of the team, it all has to do with accepting fault, fixing the fault & learning from it... which they didnt do from RLL2.

So he bans the bloke and then continues to relentlessly berate him?

This after Ross has a whinge about not having the right of reply (I don't think that's something offered in most reviews anyway). What an utter f*cktard.
