I really liked RLL2.

I hate this though. The flaws are just too much and even more apparent then RLL2.

They should have just polished up RLL2 and added the drag system/quick play the ball. With Be a Pro and Instant Replay it would have been a decent league game.

Rather then rewriting it from scratch like they said they did. I'm not even sure why they did this, it's similar to RLL2 anyway, just worse.

OMFG!! 100% AGREED!!

Why did they choose to rewrite everything? Looking past the various issues, RLL2 was a decent attempt.
Imo, RLL3s issues are far worse and inexcusable.

RLL3 was an opportunity to correct everything that was wrong with RLL2, tweak things around, iron out bugs, include those extra modes, improve the graphics and then perhaps we wouldn't have got a rushed unfinished product at the end...!?! Oh what could've been..... :(

Expecting anything but rubbish from Big Ant when it comes to Rugby League is foolish and naive. I imagine a bunch of neck beards who in a 9 hour working day, 6 of those are spent making the game, the other 3 are spent standing on the city balcony having a cigarette and a chat

We know they can make games. As mentioned before DBC is a solid attempt for a cricket game and was hell fun to play!
I've been told the 1st AFL Live was solid too (I haven't played it so can't comment on that but check the reviews I guess..?)

Ok, so they haven't yet got it right on RL ever BUT I stand by my previous comment in saying RLL1 to RLL2 was a massive step up & improvement. I just naturally thought they were going to go up a few levels on RLL3 but was hugely disappointed with it. Call us naive but I think that it was a fair assumption from fans given the last improvements made that RLL3 was going to progress further....

I like RLL2, I still play it to this day. So people who come out with sweeping statements about big ant being rubbish aren't worth listening to. It's a shame that fellow rll2 appreciaters feel it's a step back.

^ Yep. It's over the top to rubbish Big Ant completely, as RLL2 was a step up from 1, and DBC is the best cricket game made, with a lot of hours put into it.

RLL3 is a step down though, and that's disappointing, but no excuse to rubbish an entire company.

Fruit Ninja is a decent mobile game also, I play it all the time on my Vita

RLL3 is just a major step back on RLL2.

So they are one from ten?

IGN have done a review

http://au.ign.com/articles/2015/09/15/rugby-league-live-3-review

I'm still holding onto some hope that I'll enjoy the game.
I liked Aliens: Colonial Marines despite poor reviews. Although I am a HUGE self confessed Alien fanatic, so I may have just enjoyed it for nostalgic reasons.

I'm actually compiling a list of music to add to my PS3 to really give the game a RL feel.
Currently I have:

That's my Team - Hoodoo Gurus

Thats in Queensland (song about Origin elgibility)

Bring Back the Biff - Matty Johns

The RL song - Danny McMaster

Matter of Faith - 2001 Vodafone Warriors

Live to Win - Paul Stanley (Not RL related, but I think its a good fit)

Freaks - Savage ft Timmy Trumpet - Was the song I most remember from the 9s this year. They played it as the Warriors came out

This is our House - Bon Jovi

Would like to add in more, if anyone has suggestions. Won't be adding the Tina Turner song because I, well I don't like it.

Anyways, back to the game.I think even if its average, I'll probably keep it. I havn't played any of the Live series, last one I played was RL2 WCE on PS2.

Agreed. Let's not bag the company.

Given the step up from RLL1, RLL3 should've been better, no excuses, and it felt rushed.
Had they've stuck with RLL2 and built on it, added features & modes and fix the issues, we would have been raving about this game.

I don't agree with that at all FR. DBC for me was great from the start, but they managed to make some great improvements in the last couple of patches.

Ball marker would be good though, but I don't find it hard to get the ball where i want it when bowling. If you can get the right stick in the correct position, it'll land in very close to the right spot.

I'd be interested to know what makes it so good for you? I think the whole ability to mod the games graphics cons a lot of people into thinking it's the bees knees.

Shane Warne 99 and EA Cricket 2002 in my opinion are the best two games released with Ashes Cricket 09 not too far behind.

I've clocked over 230+ hours on DBC and have never modded it.

Shane Warne Cricket on the Mega Drive was awesome because you could get in and rush to 10000 runs, and it was a fun game.

DBC is a great game for different reasons. It requires you to work for your runs, pick the ball (admittedly, not easy) and fire off the right shot, leave the ball or block it. You can hit to every square inch of the field and you are rewarded for timing and patience.

I will say though that some of the fielding AI is rubbish, but AI has never been a strong point of Big Ant.

That news limited review is written by someone who likes Rugby League. Even in the summation of the article he writes: "While it has vast improvements from its predecessors, it?s still not the tidiest game ever created.".

The point is its better than RLL2

The Newscorp article is laughable and IGN are being generous. a 4 would've been closer to the mark.

Exactly. 4 to 4.5 (below average). I see RLL2 got a 6.0 from IGN which I think is probably a fair score.

Wish RLL3 was popular enough to get more than just 2 reviews in the first week of release.
I think then we'd see a fair reflection of where the title sits as a metacritic rating overall.

I see IGN gave DBC a 6.8 on console...
I would've given it higher tbh. 7.5 imo.
A few quirks but innovative & fun to play.
