Terrible game. Terrible game play and graphics for this day and age. Ridiculously overpriced, $109 at EB but only $89 at JB. When creating new teams there is limited space to type the name and even more limited in mascots for created teams. You can't create the Bears in any way, something that you could do in all previous carnations of the game on ps2, xbox and wii. This game is a joke and shouldn't have been made.

The game is all about being realistic. No bears is realistic.

I really dont mind this game, at least the game play and online, it really isnt too bad, you feel in control and it's fun.

Red Ants made a good first effort and have a very good base to build on IMO.

that is dumb, how often do you see players sticking there arms out to catch a ball from the kick off and manage to catch it using there shoulder and head?

This game is far from realistic...half these tackles only happen in wrestling.

We are not whinging, but there is no way that a video game these days should be released with controller lag..it is not like that is a bug that would have been missed, unless of course nobody at Red Ant even played the game.

The fact that the above problem exist implies that straight out of the box this game is crap.

In terms of gameplay, I personally enjoy it. A bit more realistic and fun than the earlier games.

But...

Customization.

What on earth happened? You can't edit the squads, you can't check the player attributes individually, the create-a-player is terribly lacking in detail and fine-tuning. It is like these are all steps back from the earlier generation games. It was far better when you could go through the team list and it would display the player alone, and his individual attributes, so you could tell what his best positions were, his best skills, etc

Was immediately disappointed by this game.

Perservered with it and am now enjoying it immensely.

Pretty bare in the customization department, however the gameplay feels much closer to Rugby League than just passing the ball from side to side. The controls are difficult to master, and the game sorely needs a training mode, but once you get the hang of it the gameplay even at medium level is challenging. A wider camera angle would make things a little easier, but the sideline camera angle is strangely playable.

ido agree the gameplay is great but so was rl 3 ,the differece is rl 3 actally had a franchise mode
and a sport game in 2010 without a franchise mode really does feel like we are back in 90s

Hmm, up until now I had assumed that NRL Rugby League Live was just the Xbox 360 version of Rugby League 3.

In any case, it's the best Rugby League game I've played (without owning a Wii). Hopefully the developers or someone else gets another crack at it.

I'd like to see kicks at goal taking a lot less time... have the goalkicker walk to his mark whilst waiting for the player to set the kick strength and direction. Would save a lot of time.

This game seems to have the same problem a lot of other games have (even those made by companies like EA) in that the players don't really have weight. There's no real noticeable difference in how a player moves or what impact he makes when he bumps into someone relative to his size. If they could somehow master momentum and weight the game would have a great feel to it and graphics/etc wouldn't even be an issue.

most realistic rl game so far. 2 players is great fun. switching off head highs in a competition also helps. patient and strategic people seem to enjoy it the most.

I've had it for two weeks now just starting to get the hang of it ( I don't get much time to play it) Played my first session online and it was great got towled up the first few times. Th e game play online is great But again the same as with offline needs more options one thing that grates on me a little is it takes you back to the main menu after every match. Online play is why I bought this game and it has lived up to expectation, so I'm happy and will get a few months out of it, hopefully more.

Won't ever happen, but EA should use their Rugby Union game as a basis for a league game.
