Rumour: Wallace to swap with Boyd?

This sounds like bullsh*t to me. If it were true I think it would be a very good move. While Wallace did not have a great year, I honestly believe that he is a specialist halfback. His defence is brilliant for a halfback, his passing game is good, he has a decent kicking game and is reasonably quick off the mark, he is very much a complete player. The question that I have (well one of many) is how he is going to recover from his broken ankle. Funny I had heard this rumour too, but my source was the same source that told me Lockeyer was coming to the Dragons, and we all know how that one turned out. Anyway, as I said my bullsh*t-o-meter is currently indicating "extreme". Besides, it's not like the Broncos really need another outside back.

agreed, my allergies to bullsh*t are acting up again. however, it would be a great buy (to an extent i cannot express in a forum) and i would be stoked to welcome another ginger to the Red V. But yes I was wondering about his double fracture as well, how long does a fracture to the tibia and phibia usually take to heal? More than one off season?

Rumours about Darius Boyd wanting out have been floating around since the early rounds of this year. Just before SOO 1, all the radio stations up here on the GC were saying that Boyd was after a spot at the Titans to be near his grandmother, who apparently lives around here somewhere. It was a persistent rumour here until we won the Minor Premiership.

I think this is a continuation of that rumour, just subbing the Broncos with the Titans. As for Wallace, the guy has talent. Buckets of it. Particularly for a ginger ninja. Would love to have him at the club (he isn't a lock, he is too small too light, and not a good enough defender to play there. And as a hooker I reckon he would be half the player he could be). The problem is where to fit him in. Would you play him at 1/2 and move Hornby to fullback, meaning the captain is nowhere near the play. Or do you play him at 5/8 and lose Soward, who is also an excellent prospect. Not an easy decision (luckily, I don't think it is one we will have to think about)

completely useless. Didn't you watch origin this year? The guys will never be picked for rep football again, his good kicking was resulted in kicks going straight down billy Slaters throat

I aplogize if it has been mentioned previously, but now that Tim Smith has officially signed with the Broncos feeder club, does this mean that the Wallace rumour could become fact?

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...good-for-broncos/story-e6frexnr-1225798378357
FORMER rookie of the year Tim Smith is eyeing a return to the NRL with the Broncos.
The talented but troubled former Eel has been earmarked by the Broncos as a replacement for Darren Lockyer when the Australian captain pulls the plug on his stellar career.
After a short stint with Wigan in the English Super League, Smith was lured to the Queensland Cup to play with the Easts Tigers after discussions with the Broncos.
Easts are a feeder to the Broncos and The Daily Telegraph has been told Smith will feature in the NRL next year should he get through the pre-season without a hitch.
Smith's manager Dave Riolo yesterday ruled out a move to the Sea Eagles with the club on the lookout for a playmaker now that Matt Orford has moved on.
"He is contracted to Easts for two years,'' Riolo said. "And he will be there for that time. Tim is just looking forward to getting back on the field.''

We've already got a hack who can be played at halfback - FIEN.
Why have 2 disasters with Fien and Wallace.

Ha...soward an "excellent prospect"... thats hilarious. Where have you been mate? He single handedly got us to the minor premiership. Without soward we finished 7th. He's more than a prospect champ... he's our f$%kin marquee player.

Yeah I saw him play below average in two matches. He wasn't the only one mind you. I also watched his Origin debut last year and he was excellent. He was excellent for Penrith in 07, brilliant for Brisbane in 08 and decent for Brisbane in 09. I'm not prepared to write the bloke off based on two games. Now Gidley on the other hand, he was a f**king disaster playing for the Aussies.

his late season form was great - killed us in our final loss to the broncs. At week 2 of the finals he was way 1st by a mile for try assists in the first 2 weeks of the finals. Personally, I think his passing and organisation would work brilliantly with sowards kicking and running game. Henry is probably too fresh and I'm certain bennett can see that hornby does not have a halfbacks vision.

Still a massive long shot after signing a 3 year deal last year...he could have come with bennett for 2009 but re-signed with the broncs.

lol. Do you need a list, seriously? I bet 20 to 1 is your favourite show.

yes i do.
we bring him down from Brisbane cause he was suppose to be a great player but he never really showed his worth at the Dragons like he did at the Broncos.
He was even dropped from the Australian Squad.
all these tries that he was to scored he was lucky to get 1 or 2 for the whole season, he went missing all season the only thing i can agree with was his defence other then that he brought nothing to the club.
so i think you better write that list now.
