They don't even do that though. It's all about spin and PR. If the issue is hot the player suffers. If the player is low profile and/or the hype around the incident has died down it's all sweet.
Except they agreed to such measures in the CBA so the players could get increased wages as being partners of the game.
He won’t just be a filler, he’s a starter. If we’re going to sign a backrower I’d prefer just a depth guy.
Now that is fascinating. This is pure speculation on my behalf....... The club expects May to be removed from the game till after the 2020 season which is when his contract runs out. Will the club re-sign him ? Also Matt Burton is listed as one of the 30 in NRL squad.
Capewell is a solid player and all, the problem I see is there’s little chance of signing a strike back if we sign capewell. This is a team that’s going to really struggle to find points, we don’t have enough pace & sheer force in the backs.
I just assumed he was depth without thinking about it. All those were before the new attitude by the NRL. Morals and rules evolve over time. Being gay was illegal now they can marry. Lodge also got a big campaign around being reformed particularly with fox going all out.
Power of the broncos. Look at David fifita incident reporting, they made him the victim despite the fact he committed an unprovoked assault.
Both Burns & Yeo are hole runners, much like Capewell is. All are capable of playing centre, none of them are going to trample an opponent on their way to the try line or flick an offload in traffic. I guess it does depend on where they see Yeo playing this year. I wouldn't be too quick to move him to the middle, I feel last year he was clearly hampered by injury & prior to that he was terrific on an edge. I wouldn't be disappointed signing Capewell, he's a solid player & you know what you're gonna get, I just think if we're going to reinforce the backrow, i'd rather a bit more variety. You could sign Kyle Turner to do the same job for less money.
I don't know. I dislike what he did but I like him as an example of what a person can be (reformed Lodge) Vs how he was when younger. Any young blokes who are like him can be shown a better way and that society won't just give up on them if they put the effort in. Did they? I thought they just paid off whoever and it went quiet. Wouldn't surprise me though seeing as they are owned by "News Limited".
