So Leniu, Burton, Hetherington not NRL standard either?

Not yet. They are promising players but not NRL standard just yet.

Take Burton there is still doubt over what position he is best in.

Leinu is still yet to start a game or play any big minutes

Hetherington had his best year still was in and out of the side due to suspension

Maybe so but can you know for a fact all of those 3 can handle a season straight of FG until they actually do it?
NRL is littered with guys that look like world beaters early one but fall away as they get more regular gametime

Spencer has played some games, and he did extremely well, as had the others.

From what I’ve heard we were significantly under the cap this year with the remainder transferring across to next year as well. I’d assume we probably do have a bit of $$$ to throw at a player or two.

I hope so but I've heard differently. Having to shuffle players out (including top-up payments) to retain others.

Sauce and Whare id say. Hetherington too

I agree there is ‘mail’ to suggest’ Jack is going to move on and I’m sure it is likely to happen.

I tend to think Josh and Dean will stay with the club. Josh loves the club, he qualifies for the long serving player allowance under the cap so there is a benefit in us keeping him for the last year of his deal.

Dean Whare is a slightly different kettle of fish in so much as given his recent injuries and age I’m just not sure he is an attractive proposition for any other NRL club so I tend to think he will be with us in 2021..

Looking at the 8 year veteran player allowance, a few of our players qualify for it. As it seems to take the years prior to FG into account if those players were developed by the club.

Yeo would qualify, so too perhaps guys like Luai.

it’s only $200k in total though, so it depends on where the club want to spend it.

Looking at the definition of the allowance Josh Mansour and Dean Whare both quality and Isaiah Yeo probably does too given the the rule stipulates 8 years as an NRL player or if the player was developed by the club prior to becoming an NRL player. Isaiah Yeo was at the club for a couple of seasons prior to his NRL debut in 2014 so he must be close. It is only 200K but can surely be used to good effect somewhere or on someone. Given our situation every dollar counts.

Is that 200k per player that qualifies or 200k in total no natter how many

Then apart from Mansour there is no be if it to keeping players in that bracket.
I am sure they must be looking at angles to get whare a medically retired release

Looking at the NRL website 200K allowance for 8 years NRL with the one club or 10 years NRL with more than one NRL club. It also mentions the 8 years can take into account a player who has been developed by the club so that’s where Isaah Yeo probably just qualifies either this year or next given he debuted in the NRL in 2014 but was at our club a couple of seasons beforehand.
