He absolutely has thrown a tantrum cause he get told he will play reserve grade. I’ve got no sympathy for him. Why isn’t he at training? His sensitive ego bigger than the club is it?

Can I like that more than one time.

It's ME instead of WE.......

These are the cold hard facts. No spin just facts.

I don’t think the Johnston comparison is great. Johnston was 24 which completely changes the dynamic.

I think the club definitely should have been regularly communicating with Josh through the year that he was going to be under pressure next year and he would be free to secure his future. I still can’t believe they didn’t have any conversations like that until after the grand final. Either way Josh shouldn’t have said as much as he did to the media.

It certainly doesn’t change the fact that Mansour has given more to this club than anyone in the past decade. That includes swallowing below market contracts twice, working harder than anybody except Edwards, being an incredible locker room presence and literally carrying our shitty forward pack up field and out of mediocrity. I can forgive one emotional outburst from a human that has done everything for our club.

Without the Panthers, it is unlikely that Mansour would have a first grade career. It works both ways.

He needs to understand that now it is Staines turning down bigger offers to stay at Penrith, I just dont know what the guy expected.

As much as I appreciate Josh taking less I think it happens more than we know. We've just had two kids do it in one off-season and guys like Jerome and Yeo who are very likely to stay could probably get more if they left, Liam Martin didnt even bother talking to other clubs. You can find reports of players accepting lesser deals to remain at their clubs every year.

I totally agree.

I think the bloke was and is still living in fairyland. If Mansour was unable or unwilling to see the pounding of feet by the kids comming through, he's got issues. Big ones.

The club admin guys took in out for breakfast......told him face to face what was happening. More than what many blokes get.

I'm disappointed in his behaviour......shows a lack of EQ (emotional IQ)

Panthers stuck by Mansour through some serious injuries, poor form and he has bombed way more try scoring opportunities then he has been part of in the past 3 seasons. Despite this he has kept an NRL spot even when his form didn't warrant it.

His current contract was given after his ACL injury, poor form and then having his face smashed open. The club has done plenty right by Mansour. His last contract ultimately has been a poor investment for the club.

But at the end of the day we can't hold another players career back and risk losing them just to keep him happy. We were honest about where he stood. Told him face to face and gave him plenty of time to decide if he is happy to be our backup winger or would prefer to play NRL elsewhere.

But he would prefer to pull on another teams jersey. He won't run around in reserve grade to do what's best for the team. Realistically he would probably be in first grade most weeks when you consider injuries. Yet he would rather ditch the club then be a team player.

Oh you have opened a Pandora's box. I said a similar thing yesterday, and I started an uproar.

Sometimes a player responds better in a different system. Or a different style of coach. And some just need a change of scene.
Bryce will be interesting to see if BA can fix him. As I said before with Salmon he just seems like one of those guys who isn't good enough for one position.
He does not look like a natural half and maybe he isn't explosive enough for centre. I see a Wade Graheme style player if they can bulk him up. But that is just my opinion.
He will be a back up. And on minimum with some nrl experience. Young and some talent. Good signing. But I don't see him playing any NRL unless a lot of injuries.
I'd be more excited about Bryce on minimum then Salmon tbh.

Mansour would have to be a dope though not to understand how it all works. And he would see that Too and Crighton are another level above. And that Staines is just bursting on the scene. It seems like common sense to me. I am sure he would be aware that Staines is a bright prospect and going to be hard to hold his spot. I'm sure he would also know his form just isn't what it was 4yrs ago.
Many on here didn't even want Josh in the side at the start of the season. It made me think about how we sent Tim Mannah off. Bound for the wooden spoon and nothing to play for they didn't even let him play the last game after 12 years of loyal service. Let him finish in NSW cup.
I wouldn't be harsh on your club. I think they respected him by letting him keep his spot at start of year and prove himself.

Looking at Salmons junior record he played for nsw at 16s and 18s. He hasnt kicked on since parra signed him but he’s 21. There are million things that can hold some a young guy like that back besides lack of ability or talent. He is probably taking Dean Blores spot as someone mentioned so if he doesn’t kick on I don’t think it matters very much.

Brad Arthur is the worst NRL coach being the main one

Good riddance to Bryce. If the rumours are true, then that shows his character.

Did anyone else see the comment on the panthers Instagram from the panthers that all the origin players and some senior players aren’t due back until after Christmas. Probably explains why sauce isn’t training yet.
I’d wait until the full team is back training to see if he’s gonna fight for his spot back.

I will be happy if he stays and fights for his spot. We probably wont find a back up winger better than Sauce. If he does do that it makes his dummy spit even more confusing though. Its seems pretty clear at this point he wants out, he has been linked to more than one club.

Hey for the record guys, someone posted a list of off contract players for this year, i mentioned Jaemon Salmon, Sorenson, and Benji as the worthy picks for panthers depth, there was one other can't remember

Edit: Leihavia Pulu

Pulu is on a trial and train contract at the Broncos.

More than likely the case.

We're putting a lot of faith in a guy who has played 120 mins of NRL for 2 serious injuries.

I get that he scored 6 tries in that time, but he needs to stay on the field to be our first/second choice Winger.

And that's exactly why Sauce should stay. Because Staines and To'o will get injured. And look at Liam Martin this year, was behind Capewell, until he got injured, and then form ensured Martin held his spot. Sauce can do the same.

I don't buy this dummy spit nonsense. It was a talk back sports show chasing down Sauce for comment, at a time when he still would have been emotional.

Since then, no articles in the paper, no social media posts (think about how Aloiai acted), nothing.

I'm backing Sauce to be back at training in the new year (when he's required to return).

No its not, that you can bank on

Its hard to say who is a good coach. Does 3 top 5 finishes in 4 seasons qualify?
Does a wooden spoon take it away? Was Paul Green a good coach? He won a GF. Was Dean Pay terrible? His squad was rubbish.
I feel like a lot has to do with luck and injuries and how the side and cap was when you took it on. I rate Bellamy and Bennet. The rest I feel you could take or leave including Hasler.
