That's the thing isn't it.

If we re-sign Josh...we are essentially letting one of George Jennings, Robert Jennings, Kevin Naiqama, Eto Nabuli or DWZ walk...or Moylan if DWZ plays fullback.

I agree that in 2 years time he wouldn't make our full strength team and that it would likely be:

1. Dallin Watene-Zelzniak
2. George Jennings
3. Robert Jennings
4. Dean Whare
5. Eto Nabuli/Waqa Blake/Kevin Naqiama
6. Jamie Soward
7. Peter Wallace/Matt Moylan

With Idris shifting to the Backrow eventually once Lewis Brown/Matt Robinson depart for instance.

Exactly that's the issue we have atleast we have put a line in the sand and aren't matching Canberra's offer

He was outstanding at fullback fir Newcastle in NSW Cup last year and performed very well in first grade in their finals charge. He didn't start the year well for us but was solid in first grade and had been going pretty well in reserves since. His problem will be getting into first grade and proving hinself before Jennings, Nabuli, Jennings, Blake, DWZ overtake him.

Also off topic, but isn't it weird how things work out. We haven't had more than one first grade standard centre for a decade since Whatuira left. In a few years we'll potentially have 5 representative standard centres.

Why is Kevin Naiqama so highly thought of?

From what I've seen so far he wouldn't be in my future plans, nice depth but nothing more

He's our leading try scorer in NSW Cup and wasn't terrible in 1st grade. Like with all these young guys they need a good run in 1st grade to assess.

Just a quick note that Kevin Naiqama is actually 25. So I won't be calling him a "young guy" like DWZ(18), G.Jennings (21), Blake (19) and R.Jennings (18)

Good player, but a short term solution.

Could sign for 2014 and 2015 realistically, but that's 3 older props in the squad who will need to be replaced almost simultaneously.

Edit: Wiki has him at 34, 35 in September. That means 36 approaching the end of next year. How long can his body hold up? Seems a bit high risk.

Meh. If we can get a decent year out of him next year he might be useful whole we transition the prop rotation to younger blokes. Would obviously prefer a guy who is going to cone in and improve the side. That seems to be the way Gus and Ivan have been recruiting generally.

Interesting signing, does this spell the end for Kingston?

Almost certainly means Keiran Mosely won't be with us next season. Shame he looked to be a first grader in the making and capable of playing big minutes.
