Its either one or the other, you accept the new deal or sue for the old one, you couldn't do both. So until he officially signs he is not contracted and suing the club.

But I meant it more in the sense of asking if he's leaving - his manager reportedly says he wants to stay.

Well he reportedly knocked back $550k to stay.

Brett Read said on 2MMM the other night that Hoppa might be clubless as the Eels won't register his contract.

I'm wondering who is giving him advice as there is always a chance that the law does not support what his Dad / Manager / Barrister thinks.

Is it worth the risk ?

The reason I suspect is that it was $300K less per year than what he was on. Laurie Daley picking him for origin gave Hoppa an inflated opinion of his worth. Nobody in their right minds would give him $550K, except us of course.

Cool.

I don't mind if he leaves if we pick up a good replacement.

One article from SMH a few weeks back indicated our new offer was $500k a year and the disputed offer was $570 a year plus a TPA.

No worries Sharpie, you're still blaming everyone else for yet another embarrassing episode. I know you're that dirty plumber as nobody can love him that much. So you surely must be Sharpie.

At least Spags (oops I mean Jake, sorry Spags, Jake, S**t) is consistent.

Long live Spags, right Jake?

I'm tipping they see some pretty solid contractual basis for relying on a contract negotiated then signed off by both parties.

Injured, suspended.... Has been in recent weeks there only real attacking option. Not doing much really.

I watch pretty much every game and I don't recall him being spectacular or anything. Watmough got canned by his own teams supporters, I wonder if Stewart has been by Bunnies supporters is all.

Well I'm tipping that the club have their own advice and are working towards a plan.

It may be that their advice this better than Hoppa's.

Sooner or later he's going to have to make a big decision. Hope he doesn't regret it. After all there was a $500kish offer on the table for him not long ago. Many think that it's still overs....

What a life finishing your career in Europe. I'd recommend it to all players if their family situation allowed it.
