I wouldnt say Lafai is a better defender than Morgan, I reckon Munster might be though
Never said that at all, a cardboard cut out of Luke Burt would offer more than Morgan. I've never seen why all thw fuss is made about him, It's he's big with crazy hair i suppose. He's lazy, disinterested and not what the club needs moving forward. But if signing him kept Morgan out of first grade it is still a massive win as far as i'm concerned.Lol at people scoffing at idris. Especially the "need to aim higher" comment.
We presently have Ryan Morgan as our starting right centre: we cannot aim any lower than that.
At his best idris can beat any defender one on one and even one on two close to the line.
He would offer a thousand times more than our current 1-4 in attack. Can certainly jam in in defence as well.
Injury and commitment are question marks so I would certainly prefer a more consistent and balanced player. But to suggest he's not better than what we have is madness.
So you expect to pay 1m for Roberts condsidering Idris is on arounf 500k???? Hoppa has been offered anywhere beetwen 600-700k and Morgan on 120-150k means Simona and Roberts on around 400k each wjhich is what they are worth. That was my point why waste a year trying to land a useless overpaid Slug like Hoppa??? when there were plenty of more options out there as soon as he failed at fullback i would of moved on unless he was happy to stay for far less which he was never willing to do.Dont agree with much of your post.
I think 3 isnt it, dogs titans and Penrith. Bellamy seems to be interested in Idris too. There is some fair coaching talent in the mix.
Munster would be worth the cash, all your other names wouldve come with big prices and I dont expect they will have provided value.
Hoppa we spent the year trying to re-neg.
Morgan wouldn't be worth much, and salary wise I wouldn't expect much better.
I think Roberts sounds like a bigger "head case" then Idris and perhaps double the cash.

The only one who is a better defender than Morgan is Lafai.
He is, potentially, better than what we have.
Based on his past however, commitment and injury are massive question marks. He has yet to commit to a team longer than two seasons. He is often injured and his conditioning is a big part of that. He often talks about how little the game really means to him.
On his day he is better than what we have. The question is whether the lack of off days can be outweighed by his on. I don't think they can be and why he is being shopped around once again.

This is the point most people miss.
