I notice TheFilthySpammers has their TPA thing up, running, approved by the NRL and not something that would count against our salary cap.

Now to see if they get enough people chipping in to make it viable.
I told you they would be able to do it within the rules, and yet outside our cap, but I still doubt it gets much traction due to lack of interest.

Chipmunk: apology accepted.

Well that's great if that's the case, but surely there would be a stipulation in the agreement between the coterie and the player that he has to play for Parra and if that's allowed then that still contravenes the written wording of the NRL guidelines, but in fairness it wouldn't be the first NRL rule or regulation not policed.

PS - I think this could really open up a can of worms to be honest, but we shall see how things develop.

I you knew what a PS was, then you'd know that what they are doing is nothing like a PS.

They are crowd funding and with zero financial gain.

Than you tell me how those pyramids where built? They didn't just appear out of the ground.... Who gets the money? Do i get the money or does it dissapear? If it dissapears then is a pyramid scheme.

It will not develop. They will raise maybe $1000. And then what? Some guy probably gets laid in a dark room somewhere in kings cross......

I didn't mean develop as in this Parra group, but development of supporters groups in general. Remember.a group is just more than one.

Um???

If NRL have said 'all good' then why don't you believe them? Might just be that the wording has been sorted....

Agree on the can of worms. But then again, we might just be catching up with the big boys.

As long as any benefits paid are directed to players after they have a contract with the Eels, there should be no problem under the current rules (as I said when this was initially discussed).

If the money is used to induce a player to sign or re-sign, then that is not allowed.
