WARRINGTON Wolves Chief Executive Andy Gatcliffe has dismissed reports linking the club with a move for Parramatta prop Fuifui Moimoi as nothing more than "rumours."

Not sure whether to post this

My rooters connection has advised that Brian has told the administration to lose Willie M, apparently he would like him out of the club even if they have to pay ppart of next year's salary.

Rumour that some Manly factionists are looking into Mitchell Pearce to replace Orford. Pearce doesn't come off contract till next year though so not sure of legitimacy. Though with Todd Carney on board, makes Pearce a bit redundant at the Rooters

Local league junior to further career with AIS scholarship

Local junior rugby league player Zacc Douglas has gained a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport.
Cobar Rugby League’s Under 18s captain Zacc Douglas has gained a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra for the 2009 season.

The scholarship will allow him to attend various training/information camps at the institute throughout 2009.

The scholarship comes as a reward for the young footballer’s hard work and commitment over the last 18 months and if Zacc continues to improve his skills and retains his commitment then he may find himself on a plane to Europe in November as a member of the AIS Representative squad.

The AIS sends a squad of 24 players to Europe each year on a tour which includes playing games against European teams.

At the moment Zacc is a member of the 24 man squad that gained scholarships for the 2009 season.

While on scholarship to the AIS, Zacc will be coached by some of the most renown coaches and players in areas such as skills, nutrition, weights and speed training.

Last year Zacc was invited to the AIS scholarship trials on two occasions and has since secured one of the 24 scholarships handed out each year to gifted and committed rugby league players.

The scholarships are awarded to players across Australia (outside of the Sydney metropolitan area) and also to players who are not already permanently playing for a NRL club.

Zacc also gained selection in the 2009 Group 11 Under 18s representative side that defeated Group 10 (50-18) in Narromine on Saturday.

Out of this game a Western Division side was selected for the Country Rugby League divisional championship that will be held in a couple of weeks time.

Zacc’s achievements this year follow on from last year where he was selected in the NSW Country Under 16s side that toured Queensland as part of the Quad series.

He was also signed up by the Parramatta Eels on a two year contract that will see him going to Sydney at various stages throughout 2009 for training camps.

Parramatta has the option of relocating him to Sydney in 2010 where he will become
a member of their SG Ball squad

MAN DOWN UNDER: Elliott Miller playing for the Great Britain Community Lions on their recent tour of Australia

MILLOM rugby league ace Elliot Miller was in try-scoring form when the Great Britain Community Lions side toured Australia.
The blisteringly-quick centre crossed the white wash three times in the five games that he featured in while in Australia.
Former Barrow Raiders and Whitehaven Academy starlet Miller was part of the Great Britain under-18s side that traveled nearly 6,000km and took in four states in the mammoth tour.
The side won their first three warm-up games on the bounce, before coming unstuck against the Australian Schoolboys team in two international Test matches.
Miller started the first game of the tour in his side’s 18-12 win over Northern Territories in Darwin, but injury forced him to miss the second tour game, where GB triumphed 36-14 over Western Australia in Perth.
The Woollybacks star then made a scoring return to the team, touching down in the 20th minute of the game in GB’s 48-6 win over South Australia State in Adelaide.
Unfortunately for Miller and his Great Britain team-mates, that is where the winning ended.
The Millomite was part of the side who were on the end of a 66-0 thrashing at the hands of the Aussie Schoolboys in the nation's capital, Canberra.
The Community Lions side battled back hard in their next game, narrowly losing out to New South Wales Combined High Schools 26-24.
Miller scored the first try of the game and must have impressed watching scouts as he was the subject of an offer to play for Sydney side Parramatta Eels for a year.
The final game of the tour proved the highlight of the trip for Miller, scoring a try in what one report called a “valiant effort”, as Great Britain went down 60-18 in the second Test match against the Aussie Schoolboys.
Reflecting on the trip, the 18-year-old said: “It was class. It was a really proud moment to score the tries for my country.”
Since his return to British shore’s, Super League giants Hull FC have been in contact with the BAE apprentice.
After a successful trial with the club and further talks planned for next season, it looks like Miller’s future may lie on Humberside and the chance to join the host of South Cumbrian players currently gracing Super League.
