f**k me mate, so does everyone else!!!!

Hmmm, if I am from SE QLD, where is my preference, Sydney, or Bronco's......tough choice!

If you don't think 99% of those kids dream to be a Bronco, you are kidding yourself.

Last night was embarrassing, we are a long way off being competitive and the lack of quality recruitment for next year is very upsetting........

so it's his job to tell us that are signings are a joke but not his job to answer a simple question?

Nope. It isn't my job. I am allowed to have an opinion though aren't I?

We have signed ONE established first grade player for 2012.

Roberts, Paulo, Penese and Tautai are hardly going to improve the roster in our first grade squad but hey it will make the trip to Ringrose Park that little more enjoyable as there will be a few new faces.

Who would you have signed Muz?

If I sat a list down in front of you and asked you to pick a handful of players would Penese, Paulo and Tautai been on that list? Or would you have looked to players that have a bit more of an upside?

One thing though, I certainly wouldn't have passed over Beau Champion at the start of the season so we could pick up Chris Hicks and Paul Whatuira. I mean that has worked out wonderfully.

WTF are you talking about, scapegoat, are you f**cling kidding me?

Signing O'Sullivan from Melbourne has worked wonders for Roosters hasn't it????

Just because we signed Nolan, doesn't make us home and hosed! The reason Melbourne and the Bronco's are successful is because they have a strict culture from top to bottom, something we have lacked for a long time!!!

Still not convinced we are anywhere near that yet and therefore Nolan may be ineffective, regardless of his actual skills........

well tell me that your reaction below doesn't smell of sarcasim??

No, we have Nolan, he will fix everything!

everyone knows success can never be guaranteed and no! we're not home hosed, who the hell says we are???

Yeah I'd resort to laughing if i was you too. Becuase the only other thing that you do is piss and moan and then shy away from questions that point out that you are in no f**king position to piss and moan.

Not my job but if the club is serious about moving forward we do need more than one established first grader to do it.
Well that depends on how the club wants to move forward, doesn't it?

If the players on the market are going to either
a) not fit what we need, or
b) cost so much and ask for a contract over a number of yeras and thus affect our ability to buy who we want in the future

then it is better not to buy them. I'd rather we build over two or three years than try and buy a permiership for next year.

Are you a complete f**king simpleton?

How do you know:

a) what Champion was asking
b) compared to waht Hicks and Whatuira cost
c) how many years Champion wanted?
d) what happened in the negotiations ie what was said by both parties?
e) why he was really on the market?
e) what else was offered by the Gold Coast that we couldn't, or wouldn't, match?

etc etc.

There are a million things that go on during negotiations. It's not as simple as "oh, this player is better, we should have bought him".

I'll piss and moan all I f**king want.

I'm not privy to negotiations and neither are you but I know a good roster from a bad one and ours has only slightly improved for 2012.

The new board made all these promises about moving ahead and we have moved further down the ladder than we were. Until we find ourselves back up where we should be IMO then you had better get used to it or quit reading it.

As would I but we still need to compete to keep bums on seats.

well according to Eels Dude it's not your job to for an opinion when you were asked to..don't point the finger at me lol

I don't have a single problem with the blokes that SK has brought into the club for next year, thus far, because he should be given an opportunity to see what he can do with them therefore I will form an opinion on that next year when he's had time to work with them, however I am of the opinion that we need to include atleast 2 outside backs, preferably with first grade experiance we're missing some genuine speed outwide and hopefully that will be fixed by March next year.

It was complete sarcasm, how does that translate to him being a scapegoat??????

My point is that we need a complete overhaul of the culture, not just a good recruitment guy.

We have gone backwards this year in attitude and the recruitment for next year is shit.

Can only blame DA for so long can't we? There were plenty of good options on the market this year and the most decent we got was Sandow.......

Kearney was to attract the big names, they went elsewhere......

a bit more on the proposed Academy.....

I'm pretty sure the academy's already happening. They're not building an actual physical structure you f**ken twit. The academy's a concept - juniors training with the full-timers.

The membership of this club will decrease dramatically for 2012.

With Sandow on his way there will be huge anticipation. Especially if he plays in the finals.

Expect a solid marketing campaign in the off-season.

It's not a simple question. Colonel or anyone could line up a bunch of hypothetical signings but what good is that?

All we can do it sit back and observe and have an opinion of the man in charge and his decisions.

a) what Champion was asking

He wasn't. Souths were trying to clear cap space to sign Inglis and they offered him to the Eels. I believe the club was trying to play hard ball so Inglis would have to go back to Melbourne and they would have to relase one of the other big four - Cronk.

The club keeps making the same mistake it did with Cooper and other on-contract players hoping they will be released.

Yep, he is injured at the moment. Isn't to say he would have been injured while he was here. Do you think he'd struggle to make first grade here?

By the way unless you forgot Hicks can't make our first grade squad either and Whatuira retired. They were inspirational signings.

I think all we can do is sit back and see what Kearney can do with the squad he put together, is that at the very least a fair chop???

You asked the question.

Apparently the books are closed?? How do they do that if that is the case??

Mate, you're in no position to have an opinion on any of the non-signings, because you don't know why the decisions were made.

And you never will, because the coach isn't going to come out and say "we didn't buy so and so, becuse his attitude in negotiations was shit", or "he was asking a billion dollars over 5 years".

Look at the flack Russell Crowe copped for tweeting about Sandow's supposed salary.

Our club are acting professionally for once, and people still want to complain!!

I believe
That's right, nothing you are saying is based on any facts at all.

I have observed the shit dished out this year, which is worse than last year, and I am not excited in the slightest for next year!

SK has a lot of work to do in the off-season to change the attitude considering there are only a few of the guys who won't be here next year. So the squad will be for the most part the same poor attitude, untalented, useless players (those are the words of the positive posters on this forum who talk up the crap roster we have now compared to next year when they talk up how good next year will be).

Why the big change in results? The half may be better but the attitude will be the same if not many players are moving on.
