Yep, he is injured at the moment. Isn't to say he would have been injured while he was here. Do you think he'd struggle to make first grade here?

By the way unless you forgot Hicks can't make our first grade squad either and Whatuira retired. They were inspirational signings.

well C everyone knows why those blokes were brought to the club and you couldn't bank on losing 2 strike outside backs in the off season..it was a desperate bid for depth and he didn't have a choice in the matter.

Do you know? If not it should be open to discussion.
:crazy::crazy:

ok then, let's have a hypothetical discussion about the potential signing of Champion...

i think he was asking way too much, and i think that his expectations of a 5 year contract were way out of touch. He came across as arrogant and uncoachable in negotiations because he refused to listen to what the coach was talking about and didn't understand simple footballing concepts the coach wanted him to be aware of. He simply didn't seem like he would buy into our future plans.

Ok, over to you...

He did have a choice. The choice was Champion.

I have observed the shit dished out this year, which is worse than last year, and I am not excited in the slightest for next year!

SK has a lot of work to do in the off-season to change the attitude considering there are only a few of the guys who won't be here next year. So the squad will be for the most part the same poor attitude, untalented, useless players (those are the words of the positive posters on this forum who talk up the crap roster we have now compared to next year when they talk up how good next year will be).

Why the big change in results? The half may be better but the attitude will be the same if not many players are moving on.

yes, he has alot of work to do that could of been established long before the begining of this season..so should e at least be given an opportunity or not??

My comments are all based on the fact that you and I, and everyone else on here for that matter, know NOTHING about the negotiations.

So now we are back to opinion - which is where I have been all along and am quite within my rights to do so. My opinion still remains that our recruitment for next year could have been much better than what it is.

I think all we can do is sit back and see what Kearney can do with the squad he put together, is that at the very least a fair chop???

Fair point. But you continually state we have the worst squad in the competition. We still will next year if we've finished on signings. So yes let's see what he's good. But if we don't perform next year you cannot bring up the whole 'worst roster in the comp' reasoning again.

I will fully support him, I will be at the rest of the games this year bar the last one on the gold coast.

I will cheer etc.

Doesn't mean I can't questions decisions, tactics and recruitment. Isn't that what this forum is for?

So far he hasn't impressed me but I blame the initial decision to sign him, not him. He applied for a job and got it, best of luck to him. I wish it wasn't with my club as we needed instant results that a top notch coach could offer, not an unproven rookie coach that could take 3 years to even make the 8!

They bragged about the world cup winning coach and the plays he would attract!

Already got Sandow - the best young halfback in a long time.

You know he's only 22 and already talked about as a future Origin player don't you?

Then there's the kids we're poaching from other clubs.

Kearney's here to build a club, not buy one. Part of why we're so shit this year is all the young players. There's also been a lot of injuries.

I think we'll be very good next year. I wouldn't be surprised if we sneak into the top 4.

Massively overrated, which means he would want to be massively overpaid.

He only looks like he'd be a good signing now that Reddy, Morgan and Loko are injured. Except Champion's having injury issues as well.

Mate, you're in no position to have an opinion on any of the non-signings, because you don't know why the decisions were made.

And you never will, because the coach isn't going to come out and say "we didn't buy so and so, becuse his attitude in negotiations was shit", or "he was asking a billion dollars over 5 years".

Excuse me? I'm not in the position to have an opinion because I don't have inside knowledge. Well neither do you.

The whole reason online forums exist is to air your opinions, and listen to other people's opinions. It's all about discussion. So if someone isn't allowed to air their opinion you may as well close this forum down because without debate and discussion what's the point?

None of us know why certain decisions at the club are made, whether it be be recruitment, selections, coaching tactics, or board level. But just because we don't know the details doesn't mean we cannot discuss those decisions or air opinions against one another.

Maybe Kearney didn't know Champion was a good player even though the rest of us do?

Maybe Kearney hadn't heard of Beau Champion because he's such a shit coach and never got to watch live footy in Melbourne?

Never played in the finals even with the team souths have been building, he can't be that good!

We have been winning lower grade comps for decades, what has that done for us, just cause they are good at 16, means nothing!

Just because the model worked at Melbourne doesn't mean it will here! The whole club has to be on the same page, history suggests a lot of people within the club will need to be moved on, from office, coaching staff, players, volunteers, everyone!

Mitchell Pearce is the best young halfback in the game, though I'm glad we've got Sandow coming because he's the second best.

The kids you're talking about are pretty much all unwanted by their current clubs.

Actually I belive that Poo is taking about the Matthews and SG Ball players that Nolan has signed from other clubs. This will be a positive for the club ..... as long as we don't get fed the same notion that winning club championships means success.

Hmmm, if I am from SE QLD, where is my preference, Sydney, or Bronco's......tough choice!

If you don't think 99% of those kids dream to be a Bronco, you are kidding yourself.

Last night was embarrassing, we are a long way off being competitive and the lack of quality recruitment for next year is very upsetting........

Didn't stop Tim Smith and Patrick O'Hanlon two of the better juniors from QLD and both with a few clubs chasing them, both choose the eels over the Broncos.

It will be a positive. As long as our coach realises he just cannot copy the Storm's development approach. The development style the Storm have used over the past 5 or 6 years is not suited to Parramatta.
