Storm could look at signing him as a marquee player, like they did with half their squad a few years ago, even though they probably misunderstood what was meant by a marquee allowance.

Pretty gutsy stuff from Hayne if the extent of the injury is true.

It would also explain a lot of his problems with picking up the ball and ball security.

Big test for the team now if Jarryd misses the next 2 rounds.

Agreed.

I was thinking how unusual it was for Jarryd to play so poorly. Sure, everyone has their off days, but he's usually so safe at the back.

Hope he rests and recovers well and soon.

Did anyone what the live Kangaroos team announcement last night ?

John Grant announced players and then their respective teams.

Awkward moments galore when he referred to the Manly Seagulls & Cronulla Hawks.

I can't believe virtually everyone missed Hayne getting injured. It happened I think on his first touch in the tackle. I also couldn't believe the commentators making stupid remarks about his uncharacteristic bad play because they too weren't aware.

They also missed Peats getting injured when he got flick kicked in the mouth by an attacking player on the ground after making a tackle, as Peats was getting up on the far side of the field.

On Hayne, If you watch him in almost every touch after that first tackle, his left arm is down or he is grimacing after his involvement. Clearly he was hampered throughout the game, which makes his effort to hold up that player(can't remember who) over the line and deny him a try, all that more impressive.

He hid it pretty well, mate.

I thought maybe his hamstrings were causing him some trouble - he's usually safe as anything at the back, and to see him make uncharacteristic errors was strange.

While watching the game, I got the impression that he didn't want the opposition to know so as not to target him.

SHould Hayne have come off then.

No, he felt that he could play on and so he did. Besides if he came off straight away, most of you merkins would have bagged him deluxe for not being tough enough and being the sole reason for the team losing. Can't have it both ways.

Many players play injured, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Well put.

Even with a busted shoulder he still managed 12 runs for 155m, 2 line breaks, 3 tackle breaks and 1 try saving tackle.

I'm really not sure what game you guys watched? Hayne was one of our best on the night (despite his injury).

Sure, he cocked up that charge down, but he actually looked pretty dangerous in attack, and managed to save at least 1 try.

For him it was a down game, but compared to the other blokes...

No argument from me. I totally agree.
