To whom were you comparing him though?

I played Oztag against Jason Taylor and he was lightning compared to us regular deadshits. Yet against NRL players he was an absolute pedestrian.

I couldn't compare him to anyone as he was the only one running. He didn't look slow, not lightning fast.

Looks very fit though.

looks like the training centre that was to be set up in the old parra jail will have some experienced guides to show the lads the ropes

Just the type of standout citizen we need at the club!

Wicks will bring with him a clean-skin attitude and hopefully it infects all the scum we currently have within our ranks

I think we've got a good healthy balance of church goers and ex cons in our squad

As fans we are good at hammering the coach, players and ourselves

BA seems to have more idea than any of us numpties, about time we let these things settle, and not be so negative . After all we are winning some games this year , in no part due to the current coach having a clue :)

Couldn't agree more. I trust our coach's judgment. If he thinks a former drug dealer can play league at the highest level and is confident that he has been rehabilitated then so be it. Sign him up.

Parramatta have expressed interest in securing the services of former Newcastle forward Danny Wicks.
Wicks is eyeing a return to the NRL after serving an 18-month prison sentence for drug trafficking. The 28-year-old is eligible to return to rugby league when his four-year WADA ban expires in September.
Wicks first met with Eels officials on Tuesday. As part of the introduction, the prop was put through a series of workouts to gauge his physical condition.
''We've had a discussion, it was very preliminary, and that's it,'' a Parramatta spokesperson said.

The prop was one of the heaviest players during his last stint in the NRL, tipping the scales about 127 kilograms. However, he has slimmed down during his stint behind bars at Glen Innes and lost about 20kg.
In his pomp, Wicks was on a contract of about $300,000 per annum. However, he is likely to return on the NRL's minimum wage if a club offers him a lifeline.
The Eels have joined other suitors, which are believed to include his former clubs Newcastle and St George Illawarra.
The blue and golds have a proven track record in turning around the fortunes of wayward players. The club took a chance on Manu Ma'u, who served time for his role in a vicious brawl.
Ma'u has repaid the faith, earning man-of-the-match honours in his first-grade debut, and is considered a strong chance of playing for his native New Zealand. He recently signed a contract extension. Another Eel, Lorenzo Ma'afu, has also spent time in juvenile prison for a botched robbery. The forward has played two games for Canterbury but is yet to make his Eels debut

He has done his time for his crime, the bloke deserves to move on with his life in whatever he wants to do. Even if he doesn't come to parra.
