after 3 rounds i find it incredible that he's already the target for our losses, we've lost the last 2 games because of our forwards have been overpowered in the first 20 minutes, nothing more nothing less

Who is making him a target?

All I've seen is perfectly reasonable arguments put forth for why he isn't our answer at fullback.

His lack of pace means he gets caught out in attack and defensively out of position, and it also means he's not a great option as a last line of defence, because he's slow.

He's very tough, skillful, strong, communicative and willing to put his body on the line - but he's off the pace, and at fullback, it's very difficult to cover for that.

Good points my man. Besides his darts from dummy half his attack has been next to zero. However I think we preservere with him in 2015 until we know what is happening in 2016. To be honest if Hayne was not available in 2016 I would go all out for Valentine Holmes from Cronulla.

I wouldn't have him in the bottom 3 fullbacks in the comp though, I'd have him around the 8th mark.

And really, we don't have anyone better in the club.

Plus we seem to be using the same or similar sweep plays which just aren't working without Hayne.

Yep, I'm concerned we are playing with the same set move with Hoppa out the back as we did with Hayne. Obviously Hoppa is slower, less explosive and does not have the same long passing game as Hayne which means he doesn't attract as many defenders himself and our winger is under utilized because there isn't going to be the rocket cut out ball. This results in the play being much less effective.

And don't get me started on Seffas middle half role.

If Sam Burgess was on the market he's first priority would be to go back to the Bunnies and I am sure they would shed players to fit him in.

Same goes with Hayne and us.

Where there's a will there's a way and I am sure that Dave Smith will kick the tin for players of the calibre of Burgess, Hayne, Izzy & GI.

We don't really have anyone else, true - which is a shame.

Hoppa makes my side every day of the week, but at centre.

Seffa is basically running the ball this year isn't he?

He doesn't seem to be trying to play the forwards through the middle at all. Just grabs the ball and looks to run it himself. I haven't noticed him standing in the midfield trying to '2nd hooker' it??

Probably because we're playing 2 dummy halves, no need to compensate for any possible fatigue, just get the ball out and get on with it?

Valentine or Alex Johnston or Nene Macdonald.

He is running it more for sure. He still seems to get in that middle half position when we are attacking the opposition line. It offers nothing.

It's because we're playing through the middle a lot more, so there is far less need to get our 6 and 7 wider off an extra half in the middle.

You know what really shits me? How when players like Marika Koroibete, were available, we didn't seem to be in the hunt. At the time I said that, geez he would be more then a descent pickup.

Well we instead pickup, Robinson. Now who thinks Robinson is the better option? Now we have to fork out big bucks for players that are of equal or lesser ability.

I see the potential ability in Johnson, but I am yet to see him do much on his own merit and most fast stepping outside backs will look sensational at Souths. Can you imagine what Koroibete would do at the end of that backline instead of plodders like Ready. I'm not saying he hasn't got potential, but for mine he has got a way to go before we put the superstar tag on him.

Add Susa waqa to the list of quality wingers we didn't play out who have had a big impact on teams ram.

However Johnston better than them all.

.

Not many people I suspect, but remember that Robinson was signed as a depth player while we still thought that Hayne was going to be here in 2015 (even though his signing was announced on the day the Hayne said hooroo). Robinson was fine for *that* purpose. Now, if we knew earlier what our 2015 salary cap situation was going to be we would have had some more options (not saying it would have changed the Koriobete thing).
