You really think he wouldn’t be talking to Penrith just because he has no manager? Can't happen for a couple of months because Luai ATM is without a manager. I believe it will happen, but perhaps not before November.

I believe that's why he changed managementI'm not saying that. I think the deal is.....that unless he chooses to represent himself, he can't be re-signed (documents) until he get's his new manager. https://www.nospam47.com/au/rugby-l...l-contract-news-2023/it0isjdmpfrirnbquohstiux
Wow that's a lot of money. I thought the managers fee was a once of payment per negotiations. The clause that could see Luai ink multi-million dollar extension with Panthers

A surprising gesture of good faith from Jarome Luai’s former manager could help the Panthers avoid a multi-million dollar bidding war with rival NRL clubs for the five-eighth’s services.
Luai, who is off contract at the end of 2024, terminated his contract with management company SFX in the middle of July, but a condition of NRL playing contracts prohibits the Panthers No.6 from linking up with any other agency for 90 days.
The three-month delay would extend the negotiation impasse until mid-October, just a couple of weeks before Luai would become a free agent and eligible to open discussions with rival clubs from November 1.
But in an unlikely development, this masthead can reveal SFX has told the Panthers that they would waive the 90-day termination clause if the club was able to strike a deal directly with Luai and his family.
Sources with knowledge of discussions speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the confidential nature of the matter said that SFX would not agree to waive the clause if Luai wanted to engage with another management company.
Luai has been strongly linked to Black Money, the company that looks after Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.
Penrith are this week expected to approach Luai to gauge his interest in opening negotiations immediately. Luai could save himself hundreds of thousands of dollars by doing a deal directly with the club.
On average, NRL players pay close to six per cent of their contracts in agent fees. If Luai signs a deal worth $900,000, handling it himself would save an estimated $216,000 over a four-year period.
SFX also looks after Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards. The Panthers have put forward an offer worth around $850,000 a year for three seasons to extend the custodian beyond 2024.
Edwards’ management is seeking a longer-term deal, but the two parties weren’t able to reach common ground at a meeting on Thursday. The Panthers are desperate to keep Edwards but don’t want contract negotiations dominating discussions leading into the finals.
If they can’t find a solution in the coming week or two, don’t be surprised to see negotiations parked to the side until after Penrith’s season is over.

I’m sure he is, even if the reported $950k seems a little high. Not saying he doesn’t deserve a huge upgrade, but for our cap every little saving makes a big difference and perhaps $850k should be closer to the mark.Blade says that Edwards is a done deal...

Not wanting to be cruel, but the club needs to be firm in respect of both Dylan and Jerome, we need to ensure we don’t overpay or give four year deals when three should be more appropriate. If we want to continue our success we have to be a little ruthless and recognise there are players coming thru who perhaps in time could do the same job, initially anyway, for less money. Personally, I would offer both three year deals no more.It was, till his manager asked for another year after everything was agree upon. These kind of demands should be done early in negotiations, not seconds to midnight.
If the club agrees it can be all wrapped up quickly.
