I was a taking the piss a bit but it kind of is. Pay a lawyer 100k for a months work instead of 6% of your whole contract

If you trust the club to do good by you and you're very well established as an NRL standard player you don't need one. A good club will take of you... Until it's better for business to not do that. Then you kinda do.

They can have massive success fees for getting a ḍeal done and even in the comparison of M&A the investment banker is the analogue for the agent.
