One of the issues that has been in short supply in our pack at times this season has been leadership. More specifically a spiritual leader that inspires the forwards and makes them better. Fifita has played that role for quite a while at least since Gallen's retirement. Wade offers leadership but his on field role is greatly reduced. We hoped/expected that Dale would provide that but signs are that he is physically declining.

Kaufusi is a good player but he needs to be more assertive. He is also one of the youngest in the pack. Royce is not really an established starter despite having a little international experience he is more of a role player. BHU was showing some signs of growing into a leader in the pack. He takes them forward and leads the physical impact. Toby has personality but doesn't have the standing.

Nikora has stepped up and is in the prime of his career. Teig is learning what it takes to be a consistent NRL player. McInnes is courageous but he is a worker not someone who is going to lead the charge.

An alpha front rower would round out the squad but it's hard to know if the cap space is there to attract one. AFB was mentioned by Chimp. He is a very good player but is on big coin at the Warriors from all reports. Haas is the top front rower but on massive coin. JWH is a great example of a spiritual leader and would be a good get. Hard to see him leaving Easts.

He was a dickhead but now he's a family man with 3 kids and has probably changed more than any of us know..

The Roosters have a history of buying dickheads though (Fergo, Lodge etc) and backing their culture to fix them as a person. Bullshit. Because they help them win. I don't think we are there yet.

Lodge is super close to Fifita. But he has history and charges and would turn a lot of the goodwill - whatever that is worth against the club. He is exactly who we need if he has 2022 form. His 23 form is not there yet. He also is based on the northern beaches so I would think Manly would be more likely if he got along with Seibold and played most of his best footy.

All in all if Fitz thinks he can get it done then great. I just can't see him having that side of him where as Robbo knows he needs a cheque book signing every few months to keep his "prestige".

Also please stop saying JWH people. I'd rank that as 0%. Will never happen.

I've wondered about this a bit lately.
Do they really have no dickheads?
Are they able to turn them into good blokes?
Or do they just have the resources to keep the crap out of the media?
