$500k seems like quite big overs to me, especially when you consider the reports that Hunt is getting $550/$600k at the donkeys and Tricky signed with us for $650k.I guess as a Sharks fan you are only going to see it this way.
Im with the media on this one though, he’s a good signing for dragons and at great value and a loss for Sharks who I’m sure would have loved to keep him if they had the cap space.
The risk isn’t ours IMO, the risk is with the Sharks letting him go in favour of Kennedy, Trindle and Hynes.
DA did very well for us in his limited games, but he hardly controlled the team. If you look at things objectively and based on actual facts, there’s no evidence to suggest he can play well week in, week out - he’s never been a regular starter. And whilst he played well as a stand in, once we had a fully fit squad, he didn’t make the 17.
Forget the name or the club, $500k for any player that can’t make the top 17 at another NRL club is a big gamble.
