As soon as I heard Welch retired I wrote a pm to someone here saying I bet The Storm get "linked" now. It's what dipshit journos do. Aren't they giving Stefano Fort Knox and a Jayco Winnebago?

My thinking today is TH stays on the promise of a decent upgrade for 2026.

There is so much of the Rorters in the way Fitz, Moons and the club are building. The depth in the club is like a volcano spitting out players. Good players. Good youngsters.

It does Frenzy but we still have to find upgrades in our spine. Whether the players there now can go up another level this year remains to be seen.

Otherwise over the next year or two we will have to find upgrades within the Club or outside the Club for Kennedy, Hynes and Brailey.

Agreed, though the only one of those you mention is be looking to upgrade is WK.
He’s looked decidedly pedestrian in the trials.

I don't disagree but I don't see anything urgent, not even upgrading Kennedy especially with Ison and possibly Disco waiting in the wings.

We're seeing the benefits of the Fitzgibbon pick and stick strategy. No need to to escalate what is working.

Shyte, Broncs won a comp with Shane Perry, Sharks won a comp with Chadwick and Feki.

We can win with Kennedy.

I should have been clearer: I’m not looking to buy, I’m looking for one of those two to replace him sooner than later.
Ison’s in the box seat, so he gets first shot for me.

This is true, but Kaeo Weekes showed the other night what an elusive fullback can do.

I don’t want to just win, I want to put teams to the sword.
Having a fullback capable of carving up a defence goes a long way to achieving that.

I’ve been meaning to post another thread on this, but I can’t help but feel shades of ‘95 at the moment.

We’re coming into a new season on the back of both lower grades taking out their respective competitions.
There’s a bunch of young guns ready to bring through.

In ‘95 the addition of Ritson up front, along with Peach and Rat out wide saw us go to a prelim.

This year AFB transforms the pack, similar to Ritson’s impact. AFB, of course, also brings years of experience in big games.

I want that injection of youth out wide to bring a similar transformation to what Peach and Rat made.

This time around, we also have the luxury of a first grade squad who have been playing finals for years, instead of languishing towards the bottom of the table, like in the years leading up to ‘95.

Some minor tweaks can transform this team into a powerhouse, and I’m hoping Fitzy has the cojones to make the changes.
