Apparently their is a rather large list doing the rounds amongst player managers atm. It has about 12 - 14 names on it of players who could be targeted for possible release to join the Knights for this year.

Some of the names on the list include-

Steve Price
Bryce Gibbs
Shannon McPherson
A couple of the Bulldogs lesser known forwards and quite a few others from the likes of Parra, the Dragons and almost every other club in the League bar about 4.

Most of these guys are reasonable players who may not see any 1st grade time at their current club due to strong rosters or who are known to be disgruntled. All of their managers have been asked to sound out current clubs and see if an immediate release is possible. Not surprisingly, they are all forwards and most are being targeted for one year deals. Expect the Knights to sign, 2 players for this season and to then go looking for a high quality signing at the end of the year.

Not saying he will or won't be going. Just that he is a player that is being approached. The other big-ish name on the list is Brent Kite. The rest are pretty average footballers.

Heard on the radio this morning the Knights are targeting Sonny Bill. Would be a great signing for sponsors and to put arses on seats.

Ricky Stuart will announce at some stage through the next 4 to 6 weeks that he will not continue past this yr at the Sharks, and has accepted a role as Coaching Director / Co Coach at the Broncos to commence 2011.

Nathan Brown has already been offered the role at the Sharks for 2011 onwards, yet to be confirmed if he is accepting it.

SBW can't play until I think 2013 when his Canterbury contract runs out,and the Dogs are not going to let him off after he walked out on them.

lol. This is a marketing stunt if ever I've seen one.

The Knights have free'd up $400k. $Money$ Bill would want around double that to come back to the NRL.

On top of that, the Dogs would seek compensation.

Obviously the Knights have floated this one, just to change the focus of the media.

Won't happen imo.

What they should do is simply top up a few players contracts for this year. That way they can pay those same players less next year and focus on recruiting players for the 2011 season. I know some might mention depth for the current season etc but realistically what is a reserve grader going to add that one of the under 20's cant.

Co-coach? And how does Henjak, a coach that's just signed a three year deal with the club to 'coach' the team, fit in?

If the signing is true I would imagine Ricky is being signed as a just in case Henjak doesn't work out type deal!!

Why would the club undermine a first year coach who took the team one game from the Grand Final? File this under R for Ridiculous rumour.

Stuart's manager has been hawking him around at his request for the last 12 months.

The Broncos supposedly want to sure up their longer term coaching position / depth, plus strengthen their development / coaching roles having lost Bennett's influence.

Sharks management known what's going on and have made their own planning.

Everyone know's the story will get out at some stage hence the planned announcement 4 to 6 weeks into the season.

You can then decide where you want to file it.

I heard the Ricky Stuart to the Broncos rumour last year, TBH I'd love him to coach the Broncos
