Wouldn't mind seeing the Broncos land Mason on a one year deal with an option for a second year in our favour.

I'm sure the form center of the competition is cheap, so too an NSW backrower that Melbourne desperately wanted to keep
I'm sure Glenn Stewart, Tim Grant are on 2nd tier deals.
Souths fan questioning the Warriors cap. Funny stuff.

Pretty clearly if Matai were to come - Nielson would be gone. Peyroux not resigned.
plus money free'd up from Ropati's release.

The Souths 2013 squad was by far more dubious then a potential Warriors squad for 2015.

Most of those are a few years ago, was it not reported that Locke has been squeezed out due to the cost of Sam Tomkins causing salary cap constraints? But since then the Warriors have been able to add Hoffman and now supposedly Matai as well as numerous upgrades

The envy in this one is strong. No KLocke was moved on because he has a mong attitude. He wanted out because he wanted to play fullback. Never mentioned as a salary cap thing. It's been long reported the Warriors have been a long way under the cap.

Others on the list who have moved on in the last couple of years, Steve Rapira, Jeremy Latimore, Issac John, Bill Tupou and now also Carlos Tuimavave.

You should see our off contract list for next season. 15 odd players, the majority of them first graders.

These "upgrades" are actually the club taking up options such as extending Ikahihifo for next year and Hurrell until 2016 so they're not paying a significant amount of extra money if any at all.

We've re-signed Johnson, Lillyman, Mannering this season, but outside of that it's guys like Fusitua (before he made his debut) Lolohea (yet to make his debut) etc. Hardly guys who would push the cap to its limits.

I agree. Sio is no star but he is a good first grader. Good get for any club.

If Sio does go it is worth mentioning (before the DT gets in with their inevitable 'Another Parra junior lost' line) that we are in the perfect position to cover and likely upgrade on him internally.

He's worked hard to get where he is for a kid who didn't play junior reps. Would be sad to see him go but it'll help keep some of our better juniors coming through

I doubt the re-signings over the past two seasons even goes close to using up the $2m rise in the salary cap we've seen over the past 2 years.

The courier mail are reporting that Manly have rejected a request for a release from Matai, the deal from the Warriors is a 4 year, 650k/year deal

This year we have lost ropo and Locke and have signed hoffman and Allwood. We were under the cap to begin with so we still have money.

And a big no way to Matai. Dont need him. Laumape is coming along well and is a fraction of the price.

The only major signings Souths have made in a few years, and why? Because Sam Burgess and Jeff Lima left. With Ben Teo now leaving too.

Usually when players come in, others of equivelant value have to go out. Clearly not happening at the Warriors. Love you guys in here trying to explain how average players like Ropati and Bill Tupou are freeing up the space for star signings

Just when you thought the argument couldn't become any more ridiculous

And apart from Tomkins, Neilson and their current signings for next year, who have the Warriors signed of note?

Have a look through their roster and find all the star signings, don't even think about the likes of the unwanted Mateo, the young Townsend in the star category, it'd be like adding Tuqiri and Auva'a to the highly paid star list for souths

Also like how Jeff Lima is suddenly on big money being put beside Burgess, plus Lima left last year what does that have to do with Burgess leaving, Grant and Glenn signing?

plus Lima left last year and they're still using his money, they'll be spending the Burgess money for years to come.

The warriors are actually well known for being well under the cap.

A season or 2 ago they we're supposedly nearly 1.5M under the cap.

They have the highest graduation rate from u20s to FG in the entire NRL. That saves them an enormous amount of money.

An example... The Warriors entire front row rotation... Which include ex kiwis and a current origin prop... Cost less than Sam Burgess by himself.

They benefit from having the biggest junior base in the competition... So they make use of it
