Well the back up props as it stands are POH, Eisenhuth, Matt cross and lassalo... All very replaceable and likely not to be there...

As for clay, he's got another year in NYC and I'll try and find out the coñtract status of the other 2 mentioned..

Actually all three of them have two more years in NYC - they are all 18 this year (also Blake Harrison). That's why I asked about them.

It's not all Keating, but he is a massive part of the problem. That and our weak as piss backrow who wouldn't knock the skin off a custard. Not including rookies Peni and Kelepi.

Our best backrower is a 19 yr old kid who has played about 6 games, the Tigers have one of the weakest packs in the comp and Ryan couldn't get close to their top side and here we have Ryan as a starting back rower, Says it all really.

I've never said if you read through back the posts. And mate your preaching to the choir about the Eels forward pack.

Yep i know mate, but with Hock and Mossop and the young blokes coming through i think our pack is on the way up.

Well thanks mate, I think will...

My point was that Hock doesn't turn 30 until the end of the year. That means he will be 30-and-a-half when round 1 kicks off next season. He doesn't turn 31 until during next year's finals.

There are currently over 60 players in the NRL who are at least 30.

And in the second and final year of his contract here he will be 31. Five current Origin players are 31 or over. He doesn't turn 32 until September 2015.

So in his last game for us he will be no older than the following players (all aged 32+):

Buderus
Gower
Galuvao
Berrigan
Ryles
Cooper
Fien
Tuqiri
Moimoi
Bailey
Minichiello (both)
Prince
Jeremy Smith (or is he only 25?)
Mason
Ross
Crocker
Morris
King
Fa'alogo
Tahu
O'Donnell
Friend
Kite
Hall
King
Harrison (current Origin player)
Utai

Most of those blokes are still going pretty well, and all older than Gareth Hock will be in his last game for us.

Pou I think you might be under estimating Danial Alvaro. To me he is a classic old fashioned type of prop. A large lump of a lad, who has a decent motor, carts the ball up all day, hits the line real hard, tackles well and has the potential to develop into a very, very good frontrower over many years. I like him, I like him a lot. He is like a bookend type of prop. He just needs time to become a man and when elevated to the NRL and some decent forwards to bring him along. Then watch him blossom.

If POH continues on with his form from last week and builds on it , I would offer him a basic contract. He looked good last week, was ready to offload a few times but had no support. I think he may be ready to fulfil his potential, just hope it aren't somewhere else other then with the eels as don't want to read articles about how we let him go.

Interesting to note him and peni are the same age yet peni had a few years with no expectations yet POH did and we are all now on the Peni bandwagon after a few games. POH may have needed some time like peni to develop his game in nsw cup and build up his body before debuting.

On Peni Terepo, for mine he was always a great prospect who was earmarked for the NRL, if he got the right guidance in the way of coaching. The way he always ran like a missile into the opposition defense was just fantastic. I loved watching him. What I didn't understand was the opinions of some of the posters here who didn't rate him all that much.

Does anyone know why he has stopped wearing the red head gear?

As for POH, he has never really impressed me all that much even when he has a good game. I just don't know why really. Maybe it's just that he always seems to be running to slow and with no real purpose or aggression. Just doesn't seem tough or angry enough. Pity.

Would have to agree. If these rumours are true, then we haven't really learnt much from past mistakes.

If there were one Tupou that I would be going for, it would be to bring back the one who is now playing for Easts.

Sounds very positive.

And slightly creepy.

Glenn Stewart is not past it.

He would have been one of the first picked in origin if bit returning from injury.

He is taking a while to hit his best on his return but he is a brilliant defender who can wrestle, hit, and scramble as effectively as anyone. Plus in attack he can ball play, create numbers, break a tackle and do the hard work.

Like hock they all also don't want to be here either, hock is the only one untested in the nrl at the soon to e age of 30+. 2 out 3 ain't bad

Anthony Tupou would be a great signing, though it seems he's going to resign with the Sharks. He's back to the form he was in when he played rep football. He's really stepped up this season.
