Rumoured Targets 3

Honestly the way we handle personnel so like a non profit charity, 2 years ago Hoy and Crossland were off contract with no offers from any other clubs so what do we do we re-sign them almost out of sympathy. It seems the only time we let players go is when they receive a better offer elsewhere.
Guys like Crossland and Lucas are guys who should be on train and trial contracts not multi year deals with options in their favour.
Even Brailey, we signed him initially for 3 years, tears his ACL 2 games into his first season, then after just 4 games into his 2nd season (at which stage we were 1-3) we decide we need to give him a 3 year extension. I just honestly do not understand that logic at all, it almost struck me as us feeling sorry for him after he tore his ACL.

I'm sorry... f**kING what?

The NRL's highest paid player is looking like he'll be going to reserve grade and then we've got actual reserve grade players who have contracts with us, which favour them!!!

What NRL team was chasing Dylan Lucas that it was so important to sweeten his deal like that!

Talking about bending over... FMD
I’m not sure why you’re shocked, they did the same with Crossland

I do have a question though. Why does every other club in the NRL have at least 2 hookers who are better than any of our hooker options and why does every other team have at least 3 goal kickers who are better than any of our goal kickers?

Who could predict that a bloke who’s done his ACL and Achilles recently would be injury prone and who could predict a guy who broke his leg 6 months ago wouldn’t be able to goal kick right away……
The best coaches are proactive, the mediocre coach are reactive, AOB on the other hand likes to pretend it never happened

Club recruitment needs to go back to covering fundamental must haves. A quality ball distributor X 2 minimum. A 80 percent plus goal kicker X how ever many you can get. We are donating wins to sides. Losing games where the margins are a missed conversion or two. This can no longer get be brushed under the carpet. It is inexcusable. If you are still working on it during the season you are already doomed.

No way we absolutely throw in the towel against Parra if we had beat Panthers and Cowboys. We should be mentally stronger than that but we're not. We're the kind of team that needs to win those games or we will fall apart.

Toohey’s news indicates a bit of a clean out on the way, with young kids coming in.

the one who doesn’t do anything for me is Ryan Rivett, I don’t follow juniors as close as some but what I have seen doesn’t indicate he is going to kick on. However I guess given the other options don’t exist we need someone coming through.

Good, we're not exactly a young team and need an injection of good youth.

We've also given plenty of chances across a few years for some locals to show their worth, and simply put, they are not worth a first grade contract.

I've not seen enough of Rivett but I thought his lone first grade game he showed some nice ability kicking the ball. As natural of a striker of the ball that I've seen for us in a long time anyway.

With how good Gagai and Frizzell have been this year, you guys reckon Klemmer was too overbearing while he was here? Didn't let other seniors have their say??

There was a set last night where he took two hit ups in the Panthers 20 last night that made me think of this forum. I think that was more Tigers being Tigers than anything though.

Yep, everything is Klemmers fault I reckon.

He's why the saifitis still only show up once a month too.
Is this a jab at me because I said the bloke is paid way too much and offers too little? I can't work out why this jab keeps coming up or who it's directed at. I don't remember anyone blaming the clubs woes on Klemmer, just that he's an overpaid dud that's of questionable influence.

We're incredibly light on fowards this year and still haven't played any worse without him, so I don't really get the joke.

I look forward to another Phoenix Crossland situation then. He's no doubt earned himself a 3 year deal with a player option by playing such underwhelming football.
