Very little chance with Bird.
We just signed a lock and previously a hooker come lock.
We need a prop that's a leader.

Neither Kostjasyn or Buhrer are confirmed yet. Though Rory's thing looks very close to being finalised, the Buhrer deal has to still got a lot to go through. I do agree though, if we get both of them, then I'd rather chase a prop then Bird.

If we get Vaughan we will be sweet for props I think.

Keep in mind we have the two best young props in the country on the books. I think the Saifiti's will be monsters next year.

I would love to land Bird. Merkin of a guy from the looks, but we probably need that. Packs a punch through the middle, aggressive, vocal, and a good ballplayer.

Yes please.

Channel Nine just reported that Bird has been involved in an off field incident which could spell the end of his career at the Titans

If this turns out to be serious maybe our luck has turned. It would have been just our luck if he had signed with us and got into trouble before setting foot on the field ala Russel Packer

If the Titans wanted to get rid of him, he's offered the reason and it won't cost them a penny.

Well if the titans let him go, surely it has to damage his asking price and we can get him budget.

We can act in the press like we are giving him a chance just like every other club who picks up another clubs sacked player.

Haha. Tell me some teenage props you would take over them.
You said young not teenage which is very different. Anyway a 20 year olds who is the same age and plays prop I would take over them is James Fisher-Harris. This is before looking at 21-23 year old "young" props like Jake Trbojevic and David Klemmer who are 22. They good kids but come on. Monsters at NRL level at 21....? In a pack that gets dominated?

Grab Bird, Heighington and give those kids some back up/confidence. Sign some journeymen props like Ben Hannatt, Sam Moa or Sam Tagatase to give the young blokes some time to develop and not copping a bashing every week. Keep acquiring depth and developing the ones you want to keep like Barnett, the saifits etc. Don't bank on two kids to be monsters.

Two of the players you mentioned are three years older, and the other is destined for a career in the back row and currently playing there. None of them are NYC eligible like the Saifitis.

Next time I will be more specific for you but I didn't expect people to go on a nitpicking expedition over the interpretation of the word "young" and take liberties with players from other positions. "NYC eligible", how about that.

The rest of your post is holier-than-thou waffle. I have already suggested signing two older props and Bird, and I have no problem backing a couple of good young players who showed a lot of promise this year to handle bench spots in 2017.

Guess we think we have the backs covered.
I don't believe we do think that. That doesn't mean we should run around picking up every off contract back we can find. That would be the old way of doing things.

Having said that, there's every chance both of them knocked us back, too.
