Rumoured Targets 3

Good point actually. Buhrer in for a spell at 9 could mean Randall is not required at all. Also frees some back row minutes up for Tapine/J Smith.

I have not seen enough of Buhrer at 9 to know how up to it he is on a weekly basis, but Randall is hardly a specialist there either.

Opinion seems split on this forum as to who will be the senior hooker this year but I see Levi streets ahead of Randall.

By no means is Buhrer a top class hooker but as a team that typically doesn't start well, a steadying player like Buhrer who can just concentrate on simple things like good D might be a good tonic. As the game wears on and fatigue becomes a factor, that's when you want to deploy a good like Levi who'll take advantage of tired markers, a mobile forward like Buhrer will also create problems as the big guys tire

Has been at Raiders, Storm, Tigers and Manly before this and yet to crack first-grade.

Can only assume this is a NSW Cup signing and not one of the potential signings Brown has been referring to.

I don't think he'll amount to anything but he has slimmed down a lot compared to when he was at the Raiders.

At least Brown is signing players with some size to them rather than relying on mobile forwards numbering up in tackles. Those days are over. Players are too skilled with the ball nowadays. All well and good until the offloads come and you leave giant holes in the line when a 3 on 1 tackle fails to lock the ball up.

I read today that Peta Hiku may also be cut from Manly to fit in Walker.

He's a quality outside back and would be a good fit at centre for us IMO.

I don't think it will be a big change at all. I wish the NRL had some balls and just chopped it to 6 for this year. Would have been nice to see the back of the 20 min league player.

A lot of coaches only plan on the 10 interchanges already. The biggest impact will likely come from players getting concussed and the unplanned interchanges as a result.

Lurker reports today that our intention to sign Hayne is legit. Also said we have $$$. I am really reluctant to see this as anything other than us once again having false hope thrown at us. Dream on I suppose. It would be great if the club gave some idea of it's targets.
