Geez, at this stage I really don't want to lose Lamb. I think if he can get through this season with 20 plus games under the belt and keep improving most weeks and then get another full off season he's going to be great for us.

Thoughts??

See Im also a massive fan of Yates and Stone. I mean how f**king good are these jnrs we have going to be! We get through this season and add just a few really good players in the key positions before R1 next year and we are well and truly on our way.

Tell me I aint dreamin'. Please.

A quick look tells me there aren't really many dominant halves coming off-contract next year actually. Maloney and Ash Taylor...next best are the likes of Michael Morgan, Keary and Austin who are more runners. Elgey as well but he isn't there yet.

If I'm the Knights I go hard for Cody now and then see what the future holds. Unless we are actually going to jag Maloney or Cronk for 2018 somehow.

I like Yates, still not sure how far he makes it with his frame, but heart can carry one a long way in Rugby League.

I don't really have a good read on Stone. Good workrate and ability to handle first grade at his age. Lacks impact with the ball, if he fills out well he could be a great player. Need to see more, but he's come a long way in a short amount of time and isn't doing too much wrong.

If Lamb can keep tackling like he did last match then he'll be fine. I don't see why he couldn't be our 7 rather than 6, either. Poor Cogger has been left out in the dark completely. Injury hasn't helped, but he seemed to be out of favour compared to Lamb prior to that anyway.

Yeah I don't mind what lamb brings to the team. He's a good ball player, not much running game so a running half to partner him like Cody walker would be good

I dare say Cogger would be in Feeney's spot right now if he wasn't injured, and I'm sure he'll get a chance in the top grade this season once he's healthy.

Walker would be excellent, can't see it happening though bit it's nice to dream

Lamb is starting to come along now. He was the lead half out there on Sunday and is starting to show signs of being a decent organiser.

Of the off contract halves on that list, I'd be looking at either Taylor or Elgey. Both young with good kicking games

Taylor and lamb is a halves combo I could deal with. Young and raw with heaps to learn, but both have what it takes to run an NRL team and do well.

Elgey has struggled a bit this year. I would not throw huge $ at him and I don't think he would come unless we do.

Cult hero winger Nathan Ross is considering walking away from Newcastle at the end of next season in the wake of a contract dispute with the club.

Ross has been the Knights’ best and most dangerous attacking player for the past two seasons – but is among the lowest paid players on the Newcastle roster.

There are reserve graders on more money than Ross – who joined the club as an unknown on a pittance in 2015.

The club has offered Ross an extension without an upgrade in salary – and sources close to the tryscoring ace say it hasn’t sat well with Ross.

The man known as ‘Ross Dog’ has refused to agree to the extension and rival clubs are already waiting to pounce when his deal ends at the conclusion of next season.

Are we f**king delusional? Of course he's worth more now ffs. Getting kinda sick of this shit. Maybe the $3.5-$4 million free that we have doesn't sit well with Moons and Brown. Need to get to $5 or 6 million before the real rebuild begins...

I reckon this is an absolute load of bullshit. Just the mole trying to get more 'likes' on his f**king FB page. The suggestion that they wouldn't even increase his $$ just a little is just trash. Club wouldn't be so stupid... NO. They ARENT this stupid don't believe it in the slightest. f**king Mole!

We only offered Gags $50k more than his current contract, and he's played Origin since. It's really not that unbelievable. We'll see what eventuates, but I can imagine a future where we're listening to Brown roll out the same "We've offered Ross a fair deal, but understand that he has to look after himself and his family. Unfortunately some clubs work under different salary caps than others due to TPAs blah blah blah" line.

Yes Browny, it's well established now that other clubs can spend more on their rosters than we can.

Yeah but that's for a player who takes a serious amount of the salary. Ross doesn't. Either way, I think the Knights need to come out and quash this immediately. We've had enough of a bullshit few years of shut news. Time to shit some media personalities up.

Mole NEVER knows a thing about the Knights! Too busy sipping lattes and taking selfies with Roosters or Souths players.

Don't trust his article in the slightest.

Herald has an article today saying we have $3.5m free next year. Wonder if that includes Gagai? It might be hard to spend it all.
