I bet a bunch of Sydney clubs find the 800odd thousand dollars that klemmer would be chasing... we would get out bidded some how.

David Klemmer has asked for a release:

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...-canterbury-bulldogs-contract-20170603-gwjr16

I doubt he wants to come to us but he would be a great signing.

Either way it will have implications for us as they won't let both Klemmer and Graham go.

What are these 'financial arrangements' the club failed to commit to????? WTF does that mean and how much are we talking here??? Must be a motza to threaten leaving esp with his bum chum arriving next year. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I can see this being a trigger for Graham to be released. Everything about him staying at the Bulldogs has had "next year" fairly emphasised; Bulldogs are one of those clubs who will shift and move contracts around to get every inch out of the cap; back ending a few contracts beyond 2018 to accommodate Graham's already back-ended total of $1m. A Klemmer and Woods starting pair is what they likely saw as their future; I would be surprised if they don't bite any tough bullets to keep that.

Still, club should go hard and chance their arm and keep a watchful eye on the matter.

If we're going to pay overs for someone this might be the right guy. He's been around long enough, he's a forward leader and isn't even in the peak of his career yet. Big body and is full of agro as well which fits the criteria of what we're looking for. Surely this is an opportunity we have to take.

Throw bulk cash at him IMO. Hes already a premier player and may get better with age. I'd give him close to a mill if he came. Exactly what we need

Bullshit. So here is the absolute condescending f**king way this will be dealt with.

Klemmer by claiming he wants to leave the Dogs because of reneged TPAs directly acknowledges he is only on contract there cause the Dogs could get him extra money out of cap.

This should be looked at for what it is and dealt with as a breach of every single policy surrounding TPA.

What will happen? More money will be found, the player will be shut up, the media will go quiet and he will stay. Nothing will be said in public as to why he wanted to leave the club given a totally unrelated party could not pay him and the Dogs will carry on as usual.

This is the nrl as it is.....f**k the whole thing.

Same thing happened with Darius and we ended up covering him under the cap to play for the Drongos.

Well, I've said it for years - why would you advise a client to take a deal that has a large amount of TPA $$$ that are not guaranteed????

How can the club be involved in that?

Grow a f**king set NRL and fix this joke of a system.

Come on down Dave, feel free to take double what you are on and it's all guaranteed.

Agree with all this. The more internal shitstorm there is at Canterbury, the more releasing Graham becomes the obvious answer. Unfortunately Canterbury are a club that usually get to have their cake and eat it too though.

Toohey article this week is pretty tame. He confirms we've made an offer to Guerra but not sure if other clubs are chasing too.

It would be interesting to know the contract size. I'm not massively convinced but I do like Guerra at the right price.

.... and he's only 23. f**k me. Throw everything at him.

The Dogs can keep Graham. No brainer imo.
